Jockey : SAMANTHA COLLETT. Picture: Michael McInally/Racing Queensland

Winning Trainer: Daniel S Bowen

On the win: "Amazing. I'm shaking. He's just a special old horse. Today, you think he's been going well and he's got to get to this level, and you're a bit apprehensive. But I thought the way he was going if he could get into some Listed races at the start of the carnival, like today a lot of the good ones had 60 kilos and he got in with 53 kilos. He handled the wet, the barrier was probably good for him, I'm shaking."

What's been the key to him: "I don't know. He's just the same as any other horse I train. He's just an amazing old horse."

Plans: "I wasn't sure about today, I was a bit worried he was going to need the run. I was going to run him in the Chief De Beers and then there's the Hinkler then maybe the Ramornie. And then someone in The Kosciuszko, give us a go."

Winning Jockey: Samantha Collett

On winning for the trainer: "It's so wholesome for me because I've only ridden a handful of horses for Daniel, I know he doesn't train many, but they always look so fantastic and this horse was no exception today. I was pleased he was fit because I've just come back from five days in Bali, so he was carrying me the last bit. "

On the run: "He's had to do a little bit more than I would have liked from the wide draw and I was also mindful he's probably had a little bit of time between runs, he's a bit gross, however Zarastro probably just fell by the wayside quicker than I thought, and it was all up to him. He dug so deep. He looks fantastic and he's racing accordingly.

"He's the most beautiful horse to ride. He just wants to stand there and take it all in. You wouldn't think the way he meanders around behind the barriers that he would get out of his own way at all. But he's a happy horse and he's racing fantastically well."
