Major metropolitan meetings are today held at Rosehill, Flemington, Gold Coast, Doomben, Ascot, Murray Bridge and Camperdown.

ROSEHILL: RACE 6 @ 3:15 PM

BLESK (3) once again got too far back last start when closing off well behind Holyfield. Racing in great form and looks to get the race run to suit. Gets in well after the claim and with even luck he should be able to round them up. FOR VALOUR (1) is unbeaten in three attempts over this distance range and while creeping up in the weights, he still rates well and is sure to be hard to get passed. SPEED LEGEND (8) has been a model of consistency this preparation without being able to break through. Gets a nice turnaround in the weights and if able to hold his form he is sure to make his presence felt again. LOVEPLANET (5) disappointed last weekend but can improve sharply on the quick back up.
SELECTIONS: Sticking with Blesk.

FLEMINGTON: RACE 2 @ 1:08 PM

Things change quite a lot after scratchings. DECENT RAINE (1) was short of room and just behind Victory Bay last time - arguably should have won there. Clearly good enough to win races like this and would have a much better winning record had she not made a habit of finding trouble in running. ATTRACTABLE (4) and PHILADELPHIA STORM (3) are both coming off back-to-back wins and have to be chances again. Not a lot to split that pair on those winning ratings. Capo Strada also arrives off a win and won't have to improve much to get involved.
SELECTIONS: Scratchings set this up for Decent Raine.

GOLD COAST: RACE 9 @ 5:20 PM

MIAMI FLEISS (4) may not have appreciated the heavy track last start and still wasn't disgraced when beaten 3L. Ran on to win at Listed level when resuming two back. Building an impressive strike rate and is proven third up. Can return to her winning ways back on firmer footing. WISDOM OF WATER (3) found winning form in the Wyong Magic Millions 3yo Classic last start and returns to a track where he is three from five at this track. Threat. THE ODYSSEY (1) hasn't missed a place third up and has a good record here so can show more today. EF TROOP (7) is a two-time fresh winner so should be wound up to fire while LADY BANFF (13) missed narrowly last week and is peaking.
SELECTIONS: Backing Miami Fleiss to win with the aid of firmer footing.

DOOMBEN: RACE 2 @ 1:09 PM

LINTHORPE LAD (3) was unsuited by the wet track last time out in a stronger field but still wasn't far away, he has the benefit of a 3kg claim and from the ace barrier will be right in the finish. CHOCOLATIER (2) finished on well to run second when fresh up and has a solid record second up with two wins from six starts. He handles all track conditions and in the small field won't be far away PRINNY'S SUCCESS (6) was unsuited by the race tempo last start and held his place to finish seventh, he is more than capable of winning a race like this and should be suited to the small field. The 2kg claim makes him well placed and hard to beat here. BETTER THAN GROOVY (4) was a good winner two starts back and then followed that effort up with a solid fourth placing in better company. He looks to be back to his best and should be thereabouts. Include in all multiples.
SELECTIONS: Linthorpe Lad win bet.

ASCOT: RACE 10 @ 6:25 PM

UNIVERSAL PLEASURE (5) appreciated coming out of Listed company when narrowly denied here a month ago. This no harder and will get some sort of control on speed. Hard to beat. THIS'LL TESTYA (1) is yet to win beyond 1100m but she's been solid in two placings on end now and will put herself up there for a long way. SOLID AZZA (8) and BROOKLYN PIER (3) are definite chances.
SELECTIONS: Universal Pleasure to win.

MURRAY BRIDGE: RACE 8 @ 4:40 PM

HEYINGTON STATION (3) has been well backed all his recent outings. It was a better run than the 4th read six weeks ago and he's trialled since. Must run a race. DOMINUS (1) was excellent when resuming and does his best early in campaigns. The month between runs only seems to benefit. GUTSY (10) is a bit of a placegetter without winning. Must go into your exotics. NAKHEEL (17) does run good races at Murray Bridge. INDIAN GAZELLE (11) had some excuses a month ago. Her best sees her run a race.
SELECTIONS: Keen on Heyington Station. Save on Dominus.

CAMPERDOWN: RACE 8 @ 5:15 PM

TOM THE STAR (1) is fast and has placed twice since the Maiden win and there was nothing in it the latest. Draws to advantage and rates to go one better. SURE AM INVINCIBLE (5) peaks and was tracking well before a luckless run the latest. Bates goes on and that's a positive and expect the mare to go close. TERRACOTTA (9) missed a length first-up turning the form around. Has to come back to a shorter sprint but has had 26 days away and can improve into the finish. Note: Bates gets off. IN THE SUN (7) is knocking on the door and has the speed to clear the wide gate. This is harder but the 4kg claim brings her into it.
SELECTIONS: backing Tom The Star.
