Australian thoroughbred Tab meetings are today held at Rosehill, Sandown Lakeside, Doomben, Belmont Park, Launceston and Strathalbyn.

ROSEHILL: RACE 7 @ 5:30 PM

RUBAMOS (5) put the writing on the wall for this with a strong first-up win at Canterbury. Goes well over this distance range with two wins and a second from four outings and is drawn perfectly for Rawiller in gate four. Rates among the leading chances. ZARASTRO (11) shed the maiden tag at start number two last time out and can go right on with the job now. Looks a major player. LE VIZIR (4) is having his first run for the new stable and a watch on betting is advised. PASCAL (10) has put two wins together this time in and must be respected. AWESOME LAD (1) can run a race while fresh.
SELECTIONS: Rubamos to win.

SANDOWN-LAKESIDE: RACE 8 @ 5:05 PM

LAUNCH PAD (11) is well named. Set down the pad with two good placings and then launched at Mortlake last time. Big win and while Mortlake to town is a big change is scenery he looks well up to making the transition successfully. Hardest to beat can be BRASADA (2) who ran on well to beat TOORAK PLAYBOY (5) at Pakenham last time. DANCE READY (6) has been really consistent and no reason to think he drops away now. Should be around the mark along with HONORABLE MENTION (13) who has also been thereabouts of late.
SELECTIONS: Launch Pad is ready to knock these off.

DOOMBEN: RACE 3 @ 2:28 PM

ASHGROVE (1) has placed both starts heavily-bet for the premier yard. The red-hot Maloney is reunited and the blinkers are on first time. Draws handy and is suited up to the mile. Fitter and the one to beat. KING'S CONTRACT (5) improved sharply at the Gold Coast and will also appreciate the longed trip. Draws for a soft run and is a danger. GLOBAL SENSATION (3) resumed much improved at 1400m. Draws handy and Thompson is a positive jockey booking. Fitter and in the mix. LUCKY BEAN (13) is an improver who's also a minor hope.
SELECTIONS: Ashgrove to win.

BELMONT PARK: RACE 5 @ 3:15 PM

ASTRAPE (1) won here heavily-bet again and was spelled. Just missed resuming at Ascot further improved and draws low with a handy 3kg claimer going on. The speed-bred galloper is clearly the one. CRYPTO QUEEN (3) led as favourite resuming at Ascot and faded late in stronger class. She will be better for that and has plenty up the sleeve. She can make the quinella. LET'S CUT LOOSE (6) resumes from the rail and Pike's booking suggests she's pleasing. The betting moves will provide a lead. ELIMINATE (4) resumes with Chris Parnham sticking and has decent Listed and Group form. Keep very safe.
SELECTIONS: Backing Astrape.

STRATHALBYN: RACE 4 @ 2:30 PM

AITCH D'AMICO (8) has just missed the two runs back with the best of them in town. Gets in light with the 3kg claim and has the speed to manage the sticky barrier. The lift to the mile shouldn't bother. ICHIBANSAN (3) raced favourite first-up and pulled up with an issue. Went back to Gawler after and didn't have the best of it. Is a Group performer fitter and will go close with Holder sticking. QUEBECOIS (11) was just nudged out at Murray Bridge making sharp improvement. Back 200m shouldn't bother on a 7-day return and she's a player holding the form. ORDER IS RESTORED (6) may be next best.
SELECTIONS: Going with Aitch D'Amico.
