Australian thoroughbred Tab meetings are today held at Canterbury, Moonee Valley, Wodonga, Sunshine Coast, Port Lincoln, Mackay, Canberra and Albany.

CANTERBURY: RACE 2 @ 6:30 PM

The penny has dropped for BLACK QUEEN (1) who has strung together two wins on the bounce and strikes another winnable contest here. Has placed on all going and will be rock-hard fit for this dropping back from the 2100m. Is clearly the one they all have to run down. MERLINITE (4) is honest without winning placing in three of her past four starts and has placed two from three over this course and distance. Looks a genuine each-way conveyance. ZUDIN (3) has a handy record at this circuit with a win and a third from three outings. Worth some thought. ZA CEIBAS (6) is better than his last start suggests and can earn a cheque. FIRST COURRIER (8) best of the rest with the claim from the inside alley.
SELECTIONS: Black Queen to win.

MOONEE VALLEY: RACE 6 @ 8:45 PM

GAZE GRISE (10) is over from Adelaide bringing a lip defeat at 60 level rattling home. The form stacks right up and Lane's booking is a push. She will ride the speed from the low barrier and gets 3kg weight relief in this grade. Is sure to take beating. OFF TO WAR (6) led beaten a half-length at Scone at 7-4 and three back led her in a 70 this trip beaten 1.4L. She gets in well with the 2kg claim and the low gate advantages the speedy Canberra-trained galloper. REAL FEELING (4) came hard to win the 70 first-up and is improved. Has a 3kg claim and can sit handy. In the mix with the extra fitness. FLORESCENT STAR (2) has the speed to manage the wide gate and brings strong form to resumption. Has the handy 3kg claim and will have come on. Can make the finish with average luck.
SELECTIONS: Backing Gaze Grise.

WODONGA: RACE 8 @ 5:40 PM

BRENLYN'S TROOPER (1) had been going super without winning in a tougher grade before a plain effort last time. Easier assignment in this and is a winner at the track and trip. Looks a big danger. BRANDERS RULE (3) will appreciate a return to the country circuit after failing to fill frame last start at Rosehill. Is 1/1 at the track and 3/4 in the wet. Warrants respect. SPANISH POET (8) showed good early speed last time when sticking on gamely for second, beaten 1.5L. Rates well but will need a good ride to threaten. Each way chance. MESCAMINTO (9) resumes and is worth some thought on best figures. Joe Bowditch back in the saddle and is 1/1 when partnering. Keep safe.
SELECTIONS: Backing Brenlyn's Trooper.

SUNSHINE COAST: RACE 3 @ 7:08 PM

ELOQUENTLY (5) resumes following a 16 week spell having won her last six starts. Won a recent trial at Toowoomba on her ear and she is ready to carry on her winning way. VICTORY EIGHT (1) disappointed here last start when finishing last in his first run a back from a spell but has track conditions today to turn that form around. Has won twice previously when racing second-up. ONE STRYKE (6) didn't beat a runner home last start at Doomben but does go well on wet tacks so worth including in combinations.
SELECTIONS: Eloquently to make it seven straight wins.

PORT LINCOLN: RACE 4 @ 4:50 PM

SEA WITNESS (1) led placing at Morphettville on resumption and then wasn't far away at The Parks both in stronger than this. Draws well with a 3kg claim and has placed 2/3 third-up. Fitter he's the one to beat. SARAH'S JULE (5) just-missed at Balaklava before winning the CL1 at The Bridge. Draws for the run of the race and keeps improving. She's feared. TURF TAPPER (2) returned in good order at the provincials and can sit handier today. Crowther rides first time and that's a plus. He has more to give and is a player first-time here. FREE WILMA (3) has been racing well without winning in a bit stronger. Will get a soft run from the low barrier and gets another chance.
SELECTIONS: Backing Sea Witness.

MACKAY: RACE 5 @ 3:24 PM

BLUINDI (4) was a beaten favourite last start after winning two in a row to open his current campaign. It did appear as though he was looking for more ground and gets that here and from the ace draw will be very hard to beat. NUREMBURG CASTLE (2) did win his first start in Queensland three runs back and since then has only been fair but does drop in class for this and gets the services of top hoop Brad Pengelly. Hopefully this combinations unlocks his potential and the prospect of a wet track further enhances his chances. Watch closely. CUBIX (1) has been out of form this season and was only slightly better when finishing third of four last start but his best form is certainly good enough for a race like this and with the advantage of a 2kg claim he gets his chance to bounce back. Include. SCENT OF FEAR (7) has been very consistent of late and loves racing here. She is up slightly in class but her recent record says she is capable of handling it. Place chance again.
SELECTIONS: Bluindi win bet.

CANBERRA: RACE 7 @ 5:13 PM

A competitive Federal. GIRLS ARE READY (8) got the blinkers again and was just nudged out here 12 days ago on the heavy surface. Fitter now and the longer print suits. Draws well and gets 4.5kg weight relief in this grade. That may get her home in testing conditions. BANGER (4) has been busting to win this grade and go on the near-miss at Wagga two-back. Loy is a key jockey switch and the gelding gets another chance. PEYTON PLACE (1) led on the heavy at Gundagai at this level and only gave it away late. Keeps the handy 3kg claim and always puts in. Will take passing. BALONNE (10) tries hard and will handle the conditions. Gets a key jockey switch to Penza and if he's going to win another one this is his chance.
SELECTIONS: With Girls Are Ready.

ALBANY: RACE 2 @ 2:08 PM

SHAKE BABY SHAKE (10) is a well educated first starter from the powerful Adam Durrant stable. She won her latest of five trials and from the draw will take some beating. Look no further. CAN'T GET ENOUGH (3) has had two runs in WA and has shown a lot of early speed but has been fading late. She has a few gear changes for this assignment and is expected to do a lot better. Include in all multiples. MILLIVOY (4) placed on debut and hasn't been far away in two runs since then. The extra distance will suit and he only needs a little from the wide draw to be in the finish here. LE WREN (7) is on debut and has been given time to mature. She looked forward when winning her most recent trial and should be respected from the good draw. Watch closely.
SELECTIONS: Shake Baby Shake win.
