Major metropolitan meetings are today held at Eagle Farm, Randwick, Caufield and Belmont Park.

EAGLE FARM: RACE 9 @ 3:58 PM

Looks a good race for PAULELE (13). He continued a string of placings when he chased well to go under by just a nose in the G1 Doomben 10,000. McDonald sticks and he can be rewarded for his consistency. ENTRIVIERE (12) made an eye catching return when third in the 10,000, closing to within a half-length of Paulele. The draw suggests she will have to go back again but she is proven both second up and over this longer trip. ELLSBERG (3) has been kept kept fresh since a G1 weight-for age placing in Sydney. Has a good record at this distance. APACHE CHASE (5) missed narrowly fresh and both his course and second-up statistics suggest he is a player. AWAY GAME (15) is so honest and while she draws wide she races well here.
SELECTIONS: The ever-consistent Paulele to break through.

BELMONT PARK: RACE 9 @ 4:15 PM

Big chance for RED CAN MAN (5) to break through after chasing home the smart Elite Street in his two runs back from a spell. He's not here this time, drawn well and trip suits. Take beating. AMASENUS (16) hit the line nicely into third in the Roma Cup at this level and extra trip a plus for her. Definite chance. VALOUR ROAD (2) was fourth in the same race at his first run from a break. Can only be fitter and has to be respected. GOD HAS CHOSEN (15) is worth including up in class and PLATOON (4) could sprint well fresh.
SELECTIONS: Red Can Man to win. Trifecta 5-2,4,15,16/2,4,15,16.

NEWCASTLE: RACE 3 @ 1:05 PM

The well-related HUON (4) wasn't disgraced when third in town on debut before narrowly missing over this track and trip last time out. Gets 2kg off with the claim and strikes a very winnable contest here. Rates the testing material. CALIFORNIA PRESS (1) has hit the top four in all five career outings and is a must for the multiples. PACHECO (5) has been thereabouts in recent efforts and can earn some minor money.
SELECTIONS: Huon to win.

MURRAY BRIDGE: RACE 8 @ 3:07 PM

Race gets turned on its head after a number of key scratchings. RESIDUE (13) shapes as the main beneficiary. Drops back in grade after two strong performances at Group level. Produced each of those runs at big odds. Warrants market support in this company from a low draw. THRILL KILL (2) just keeps finding the placings. Has to go into the exotics. CROWN MINT (3) was much better last weekend. He can build on that.
SELECTIONS: Residue looks well placed.

WAGGA: RACE 6 @ 4:01 PM

GULF OF ADEN (1) returns from a four month break and did win first-up last time in work over 1206m at Kyneton. Fitter for a recent trial win at Tatura. Drawn to enjoy a nice run just off the lead and looks hard to beat. FOXY GAL (2) has been thereabouts since getting off the mark three runs back, the latest effort a third over 1612m at Kilmore. Has a high cruising speed and will be in this for a long way. MISS KIRRIBILLI (4) pushed forward last time and boxed on to finish second over 1200m at this track. Can sneak into the finish again.
SELECTIONS: Gulf Of Aden to win.

WODONGA: RACE 1 @ 12:41 PM

A MAGIC GUST (1) has filled a place in three of his past five outings. Is deserving of a breakthrough victory and gets that chance here on home track. Go well. PERISSEUO (12) showed development at second career outing at Gawler. Improving type in good hands and cannot be left out of calculations. LISTEN TO MAURICE (5) was easily held on debut before an improved showing here last time. Will better with that run under the belt. Don't underestimate. BARBARAN (8) followed up sound debut with a solid performance at Wangaratta. Will give a bold sight.
SELECTIONS: Back A Magic Gust to win.

SUNSHINE COAST POLY: RACE 3 @ 11:59 AM

THE CATCH (2) came from well back on the turn to score last time out over 1666m at Ipswich. A repeat of that effort should see him hard to hold out again. READ MY FUTURE (3) scored at his most recent appearance, getting home by half a length over 2000m at this track at this trip. He's racing well and must be considered. HAPPY CANDY (6) scored by one length last time over 1600m at this track. Will carry less weight for the class rise and can win again. ROYAL PERFORMANCE (4) finished 6 lengths adrift in tenth last time at Sunshine Coast in a disappointing performance but can improve.
SELECTIONS: The Catch to win.
