Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays for Australian TAB meetings on August 9.
Four TAB meetings are held across Australia on this Friday at Tamworth, Ballarat, Rockhampton & Canberra.
Canberra Acton Race 8 @ 4:40pm
Sky Mission can lead from Action Shale and Eokalio. EOKALIO (6) raced handy and was tough winning the CL1 here resuming. He has got more to offer and rates to repeat with Ward using the rail. ACTON SHALE (5) is an Olive stablemate who is up to this at best. He goes well fresh and has the speed to sit handy. Keep a close eye on the market with him. FLIGHT ZONE (8) resumes for a Sydney yard and expect her to come back further improved. She has trialled well and the claimer can use the low gate. ADDCHAN (7) resumes off a strong 58 win and is another with a chance if presented on-song. SELECTIONS: #6 Eokalio can make the double.

Tamworth: Race 6 @ 3:40pm
Good early speed to come from Larynx, True Finesse and Mystic Splendour. LARYNX (1) stepped out beyond seven furlongs for the first time last start and battled on gamely into 3rd place over 1570m at Cessnock. Enjoys the perfect run from the inside gate and with that last hitout under the belt he looks a strong winning hope. MYSTIC SPLENDOUR (8) led and gave a good kick but found one better over this trip at Moree last time out. Stepping up a level today but drops 3kgs and is sure to run boldly under the light weight. The lightly raced ZEALOT (7) returned from a 21-week spell with an eye-catching 3rd over 1400m at this track recently. Back-marker who will appreciate a bit more ground today - watch for her late. CAPITULATE (2) won a weaker race at Coonabarabran last start - worth including. SELECTIONS: Confident about the chances of #1 Larynx.
Ballarat Synthetic: Race 8 @ 4:30pm
Captain Crackerjack can lead from Manasari. PHYSICALITY (3) was an easy 58 winner here first-up in a very strong form race, and then led in better than this at Mildura beaten 1.5L. He peaks now with Yendall sticking and this looks winnable for him. MANASARI (9) posted a strong figure winning the 58 easily on the synthetic as favourite making it 2/3 this campaign. She will race handy again from the handy gate and is sure to be fancied. THE MAYOR (1) has won and placed the last two and can be in the finish in easier. ICON (6) gets Meech first time and a low draw and is also a chance. SELECTIONS: #3 Physicality appeals in a good contest. Manasari the saver.
