Five TAB meetings are held across Australia on this Wednesday at Canterbury, Bendigo, Ipswich, Belmont & Balaklava.

Canterbury: Race 5 @ 3:45pm

ERNO (7) returned from a four-month spell last start with a very game 2nd over 1200m at Warwick Farm. Took over on cornering that day and looked home only to be collared right on the line. Strips fitter this time and it is worth noting he won comfortably in town second up last prep over 1300m. QUADRIGA (5) is a good fresh horse so represents a threat coming off a 23-week spell. Was considered good enough to tackle a G2 in Melbourne in the Autumn, albeit without success. Has the quality to test these. LILITH (3) came with a whirlwind finish from a mile back on the turn to just get up over 1200m at Newcastle recently. Distance specialist who looks particularly well treated after the claim. EVER SO NATURAL (4) found the line strongly to grab 3rd in open company at Tamworth last start. That form should measure up. SELECTIONS: #7 Erno to win with that run under the belt.

Ipswich: Race 3 @ 2:20pm

The scratchings take a lot of the early pace out of this race. PRECIZZLING (8) improved sharply with blinkers on last start when lining up for just the second time, working home well only to find one better over this course and distance. Drawn well again and with similar improvement today can take this out. MASLOW (5) is resuming from a 32-week spell and is now with the Edmonds camp. Wasn't far away in his first three runs last prep when trained in Victoria. Two recent trials should have him ready to run well. FIZZ (10) is another one resuming from a spell with claims. Ran her best race last prep when first up, beaten narrowly over today's journey at Doomben. Drawn to get a cosy run so has to be treated seriously. DENCH (7) is a chance with the blinkers back on. SELECTIONS: #8 Precizzling with the race fitness edge to prove too strong.

Balaklava: Race 7 @ 3:35pm

Three or four capable of leading and they will fly along. A terrific feature sprint.  ALL OVER BOSANOVA (2) will be better for the two runs in, including at Flemington where he didn’t miss by far in the 90. Was just nudged out at Group 3 last campaign and has plenty to offer in this with the claimer using the low draw. COLUMBIA (5) has improved each run back. He just missed 39 days ago in an 84 at Moonee Valley. Didn’t have much luck in that, and should be right in it with a good ride from the tricky gate. TEQUILA TIME (7) has missed a whisker the last two and the latest stacks up. Finds harder, but has to be keenly considered with the weight drop. ARROW LANE (4) will be around the mark on the quick return. SELECTIONS: Punting #2 All Over Bosanova will have an edge.

Bendigo: Race 9 @ 5:05pm

Plenty of early pace with Mean Mister and Sir Kalahad perhaps the most prominent. HURRICANE FIGHTER (11) resumes seeking the hat-trick and is a promising galloper who will take a stack of beating if presented on song. Won the 64 at this venue by 3L when last seen - heavily-backed - and can build on that peak. MEAN MISTER (2) won the 64 easily and then led again winning at this level at Sandown. The claimer should clear the wide gate okay and the gelding will take running down. CUBAN TOONITE (1) seeks the hat-trick off an easy on-pace win here and is a chance again with a decent ride from the 3kg claimer. RIDGEWOOD DRIVE (5) also draws out, but is up to this and keep safe on resumption. SELECTIONS: #11 Hurricane Fighter can go on to better things.
