Cranbourne: Race 9 @ 5:10pm
Early speed in the Cup looks genuine. Dr Drill will be prominent while Looks Like Elvis and Captain Cook won't be far away. A very even renewal of the Cup this year. LOOKS LIKE ELVIS (4) has a good race in him somewhere and this may be it. He caught the eye last week when close up in the Turnbull having won four of his five starts prior in lesser grade. Drawn to be close in the run and must be respected. PLEIN CIEL (3) has won three from five second up and was a Group 3 winner at this distance last preparation. Looks a threat. CAPTAIN COOK (2) notched a much deserved win last start in determined fashion. He can figure despite the rise in weight. DR DRILL (7) is building a strong record and deserves his chance at this level. SO YOU WIN (5) impressed last start and it would be no shock to see him take this out. The chances don't end there.SELECTION: #4 Looks Like Elvis will be the value runner. Go wide in multiples.

Geraldton: Race 5 @ 6:55pm

Song Of Vincent, Halldora and Stride out are all quick early. SONG OF VINCENT (5) resumes off a strong peak at Broom and is a speedy galloper who looks well up to this. Draws to advantage and comes in light with the claim. JUPITER RISING (8) resumed with a comfortable CL5 win here and has more to offer. Needs a good ride but is feared. POLITICS (1) resumes and is up to this if presented ready. She's trialled well and is advantaged by the low gate and claim. HALLDORA (7) runs along and go on the first-up placing. She has more up the sleeve and keep very safe freshened. SELECTION: #5 Song Of Vincent has the ability and might be underestimated. SELECTION: #5 Song Of Vincent has the ability and might be underestimated.

Penola: Race 4 @ 3:00pm

Ardizzone can lead. HASTA LA WAR (1) deserved the big win at Murray Bridge and then just missed this grade at Strathalbyn also heavily backed. Draws low with a claim and is clearly the one to beat with the claim. ARDIZZONE (2) worked to the speed and won at this level two weeks ago. Keeps the form hoop and poses some threat. JACK IN THE DITCH (3) has disappointed the last two but the form prior stacks up. He's a chance using the low gate. CUBAN FIGHTER (5) is in the mix forgiving the latest. SELECTION: #1 Hasta La War has the form and figures to win.

Sunshine Coast: Race 5 @ 4:41pm

Abitofacard can lead from the handy gate and expect the large field to run along. ASCENSUS (3) came off a trial win to just miss here on debut. Fitter, she's clearly the one they have to beat. ABITOFACARD (2) runs along and expect him to stick on better today. The claim is handy. SO DAPPER (1) was a distant third here on debut bringing a good trial win. No surprise if we see quick improvement. BACK THE ROCK (4) comes to peak and is going okay but the gate is against. SELECTION: #3 Ascensus should have these covered.

Murtoa: Race 6 @ 4:08pm

Early pace across the barriers in the Cup with Barry The Baptist and Tre Deici prominent. ARTY LUCAS (5) made the hat-trick winning the 80 in Adelaide heavily-backed and his win there before was dominant. He will get the right run from the rail and rates to take a stack of beating. BARRY THE BAPTIST (3) led just beaten at the mile first up returning a near best figure. He'll be ready for the middle distance and will be right in it. KILIMANJARO (1) is in a sharp yard and can make sharp improvement second-up. May need one more but has the ability. BREAK AND ENTER (4) will improve off the nose defeat at Coleraine and should be in this for a long way. SELECTION: Keen on #5 Arty Lucas.
