Muswellbrook: Race 5 @ 4.20pm

A good sized field but none of these are noted speedsters so the early tactics will be interesting. SPIRITUAL POWER (5) settled midfield and couldn't improve when resuming over 1100m at Scone last start. Beaten less than a length 2nd up last prep over 1300m at Hawkesbury. Blinkers on today - watch for a far better run. FONCE FACTOR (9) was safely held on debut at Tuncurry back in September. Trialled okay at Wyong recently and is a likely improver this time in work. STARS DON'T LIE (10) worked home fairly first up from a very long spell last start. Fitter and worth including. INDIAN DANCER (3) was well held on debut but can improve. SELECTION: Very confident about #5 Spiritual Power's chances.

Dubbo: Race 2 @ 2.45pm

Smokeball from wide out will rush across and find the paint. BLACKADDER (2) comes off a two-month break and a change of stables since his last start 3rd over 1600m at Echuca. Talented gelding who has placed at his only two starts. Draws the fence and will be ready sprint well at his first run for new trainer John Lundholm. ARKAM ASYLUM (8) is racing well without winning, including a closing 2nd over 1550m at Gilgandra last time. Freshened up and sure to be thereabouts. ALASKAN AURA (5) was poor at Forbes last start but is better than that. The rest have no chance on current form, headed by CLAUDES'S CHOICE (9). SELECTION: Keen on #2 Blackadder.

Werribee: Race 6 @ 4.00pm

Entangled Toff and Toojay to inject plenty of early pace into this contest. TRYGVE (7) put the writing on the wall last start when he stoked up late and was beaten less than a length over 1150m at Geelong. Cherry-ripe now after three runs back and is going to be tough to hold out off the back of a slick tempo. EMPEROR'S CHARIOT (5) charged through traffic in the straight to arrive just in time last start over this course and distance. Evergreen gelding who won't find this any harder. DANDY DIAMOND (3) improved sharply when second up from a spell recently, closing hard to grab 3rd over 1000m at Terang. Big chance over the slightly longer journey today. TOOJAY (2) didn't do much last start over this course and distance but strips fitter and can improve. SELECTION: #7 Trygve is ready to win.
