Grafton Race 5 @ 3.20pm

Dawn Thunder from a good gate will take it up at a strong tempo. RACKETEERING (4) improved sharply last time out at just his second race start, making good late inroads to get up for 2nd over 1200m at the Gold Coast. Very hard to stop over an extra furlong today in a modest maiden. DAWN THUNDER (8) led until the final few bounds over 1200m at Lismore recently. Perennial placegetter but a sound each-way investment as she reaches her peak third up. BYRON BUOY (1) found 1106m too short when resuming here last start. Just missed second up last prep so can improve. I'M FLUENT (10) lacked a turn of foot over 1206m at Port Macquarie last time. Has placed 2/2 at this trip so should be far more competitive today. SELECTION: #4 Racketeering is ready to win.

Echuca Race 6 @ 3.00pm

Good early tempo with Vladivostok leading the way. VLADIVOSTOK (7) took charge at the top the lane and appeared the winner until bloused late at the end of this trip at Wangaratta last time out. Nicely in after the claim and will prove very tough to reel in. THE TRAINMAN (2) worked home strongly out wide to get up for 3rd last start over 1450m at Kilmore. Appreciated the step up in trip that day. Drawn awkwardly but with any luck is going to be hard to stop. CIELO D'ORO (3) disappointed in a stronger race at Geelong last start when third up from a spell. Form before that was solid so worth another chance coming back in grade. CONSTANT FLOW (6) attacked the line strongly to go under by less than a length over 1200m at Wodonga last Monday. Perfectly placed out to this trip on the quick back up. SELECTION: #7 Vladivostok looks hard to toss.

Ipswich Race 5 @ 3:27pm
Terrius and Notta Lover may be the pair to run them along. VAMPIRINA DIAMOND (13) is in a form yard and brings three strong placings to resumption. Will be better for the trial and is the one to beat with a good ride. TERRIUS (6) is fast and will easily clear the wide gate. Just missed the placings resuming at the Gold Coast and has more to offer. He's a serious chance. GIBBO'S GIRL (8) placed just ahead of the above in the same race at long odds, and won't have to improve much to be in the finish again. UNUSUAL AUNT (12) may be best of the rest. SELECTION: #13 Vampirina Diamond is in good hands and come back a winner.

Tamworth Race 5 @ 3:30pm
Chambermaid, Flying Encounter and Ultimate Quest look the ones to run them along. MUDGEGONGA (1) deserved the Scone Maiden win and did it by a space. She can push forward again and rates to take the next step. ROSE OF SAVANNAH (7) has had two solid runs for the new yard bringing form from stronger grade. Would be a threat finding her best. CHAMBERMAID (2) missed a lip in the CL1 in a return to form. Draws to get every chance, but has to show she can run out the extra trip. FLYING ENCOUNTER (8) led and won the Maiden comfortably at Armidale running here best race. She's well in the mix. SELECTION: #1 Mudgegonga looks good value at the current $4.8 fixed.
