Murwillumbah: Race 5 @ 3:15pm
Plenty of speedsters engaged who are capable of leading and they will fly along. ANNIE ETHYL (9) was scratched from another race for this and is a speedy improver coming off a comfortable CL1 win at Grafton. Rates highly off that and is a candidate to lead. Fitter now and looks very hard to beat. COMMANDING WITNESS (3) can cross-over and take a sit and is ready to fire third up back to easier grade. The former Sydneysider has plenty to give and the Costa yard is getting plenty of winners. AMIRYKAL (10) won the Ballina Maiden by 5L heavily-backed and then wasn't beaten far at Grafton. Needs a good ride, but gets the chance to bounce. COSMIC RUBY (4) is an ex Victorian and is capable at best. Led and ran out of puff resuming and draws to advantage today. Quick improvement wouldn't surprise. SELECTION: #9 Annie Ethyl looks well-placed to win again.

Swan Hill: Race 2 @ 1.00pm
SWEET VENOM (11) has placed 7/11 and is well and truly overdue that maiden win. Led and boxed on gamely to be beaten just on a length over this course and distance last start. The engagement of Dean Yendall might give that extra 5% required. DUBIAN MYTH (3) worked home powerfully and wasn't beaten far when resuming over 1000m at Bendigo last time out. Will race a bit closer from a better gate today and is sure to be hard to hold out over the extra furlong. I AM BRUNO (5) resumes from a five-month spell in a new stable. Will be better over a bit more ground but while fresh is a solid each-way chance. SELECTION: #11 Sweet Venom to register a well-deserved win.

Qurindi: Race 7 @ 4.45pm

DIVISADERO (4) showed paced but felt the pinch late and just missed a place when resuming over 1280m at Muswellbrook last time out. Narrowly defeated second up last prep so looms large, particularly back to this journey. BRING THE JOY (6) is in the mix first up from a 170-day spell. Better over more ground but with a cosy run from an inside gate can finish powerfully. YULONG MONOCEROS (2) was disappointing in a stronger race over 1200m at Tamworth recently. Fitter for two runs back from a spell and is a threat coming back to this trip in an easier race. SELECTION: Keen on #4 Divisadero.
