Today’s Horse Racing Tips – 14th May 2020

3 minute read

Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays at Australian TAB meetings for May 14.

Racing at Wyong. Picture: @WyongRaceClub

Wyong: Race 5 @ 3.20pm
SIGNIFICANCE (1) was well fancied last start at Warwick Farm but could manage only seventh. Should relish a return to easier company here. Dominated when breaking his maiden status at this course and distance two back. STOCKMAN (3) finished midfield over 1400m latest at Hawkesbury. Jumps up in journey today. Suited by the extra ground and could threaten. AUVERGNE (6) was a narrow winner at this trip and circuit last time out. Expected in the finish. SELECTION: Backing #1 Significance to win.

Cairns: Race 5 @ 4:47pm
Celestial Jewel draws the ace and looks the leader in a race without much early speed. BOUGATSA (2) was heavily-backed again winning the Maiden here third-up coming from the back and has yet to reach his best Victorian figures. He may do that today peaking off a low gate and with the form-hoop sticking. BUOYANCY (1) has been close-up since the big Maiden win at this track and finds a touch easier. He's been getting back and the longer sprint is likely to suit now. Looks some threat. MISS CELITA (11) was outgraded at Townsville, but was in it for a long way here prior and can make the placings from the handy gate. BATTLE (3) will also be around the mark. SELECTION: #2 Bougatsa can really hit his straps today.

Pakenham: Race 7 @ 8:00pm
Chavuma crossing over is a likely leader and they will run along okay. MORE SUNDAYS (8) resumes for a leading yard and has been gelded. Posted a good figure winning the CL1 two-back, following a fair return as favourite at The Valley. Draws low and expect him to be further improved and ready to go and win. NO CHANGE (10) won the CL1 here second-up and has more to offer. He is a winning hope and should be given every chance. BEAVERBROOK (6) has been racing well without winning and won't be far away again. DANAWI (1) resumes in good order for the new yard and has more up the sleeve. Gets the blinkers again, but needs a good ride from Callow from the tricky gate. SELECTION: # 8 More Sundays is the one to beat with the main hopes scratched.
