Sandown: Race 8 @ 4.15pm
PAPERBOY (14) wasn't disgraced three starts ago on the Heavy behind Buffalo River over this distance prior to placing at his next two starts. From a better draw he can settle closer in the run here and Damien Oliver goes on. Should be thereabouts. SONAREE (10) has a win at this track and distance over Hidden Legend and Orleans Rock as well as a close second to Pierro Belle among his last three starts. Doesn't want it too wet but is worth including. HEAVENLY EMPEROR (4) has won two from three second up and if he doesn't get too far back from the wide draw he can figure here. STRATEGIC PHIL (9) loomed to win last time and looks ready to build on a strong third up record of two wins from three starts and a second. He's worth thought. SELECTION: #14 Paperboy appeals from a better draw.

Ipswich: Race 9 @ 3:20pm
Good speed upfront. MOUNTBATTEN (1) appears a good chance on current form. He was third to the flying Soxagon in CL6 company last start. That's strong form for a race like this. Creeping up in the weights but he holds a touch of class in this contest. Inside draw gives him every chance. MY BELLY BUTTON (7) has a handy overall record. Had too much to do from back in the field at the Gold Coast most recently. Goes well here and he's expected to be strong late. CHAMPAGNE DAISY (15) stuck on solidly at Doomben first-up. Fitter/further are positives. Doesn't win out of turn but on he does appeal on the place line. AMSCHEL (11) best of the rest. SELECTION: Mountbatten straight out.

Goulburn: Race 7 @ 3.50pm
Competitive edition of the Nowra Cup. REGAL STAGE (5) is well placed for the Waterhouse/Bott stable. His latest effort at Warwick Farm was superb. They went along at a fast pace and he was the only one in the leading division who was still fighting out the finish. Gets a weight relief on that. Rolls to the front here and should give these plenty of grief. GREEK HERO (4) is a big threat. Trapped wide no cover throughout yet was still too strong at Kembla Grange at his Aus debut. Admittedly didn't beat much but he's got a touch of class about him. PELETHRONIUS (1) is a seven time winner on bog tracks and if the predicted rain comes well he's worth elevating in the selections. Not disgraced in two runs back despite not beating many home. Presents third-up off a freshen and it feels like a target race. BRAZEN (3) ran his best race in some time at Wagga last start. No recent wins is the knock but he should be competitive. SELECTION: Going with #5 Regal Stage.

Muswellbrook: Race 7 @ 4.10pm
MELIK (2) is bred to be anything. He's a full brother to the superb two year old from a few seasons ago in Pariah. Smashed in betting on debut and got the job done, leading for the entire at Scone. Went to provincial grade following that and after taking a sit, his effort to be beaten a head was good. Given time to strengthen by the Messara camp. He's had two trials to prep him up for this and has clearly gotten better as evidenced by those. He just needs to lump the 61kg. COOL MISSILE (5) was dazzling on debut. Didn't beat much but the time was good. She's got the inside alley and will give these something to catch. EGYPTIAN AMULET (6) was a winner here on resumption. Obvious claims based on that but this is harder. CANFORD MICK (4) for the exotics. SELECTION: #2 Melik for the win.
