Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays for Australian TAB meetings on September 8

Trainer: MATTHEW DALE. Picture: Racing and Sports

Four TAB meetings are held across Australia on this Tuesday at Queanbeyan, Scone, Moe & Mackay.

Queanbeyan: Race 7 @ 4:20pm

Raven's Rabbit expected to set the tempo. RAVEN'S RABBIT (3) won the Maiden easily first-up and has just gone under the two since. She has the speed to cross over and control the race and should be winning for the sharp barn with the winkers applied first time. ALFSTAR (2) resumes off a strong Maiden win and Jennings sticks from that. He owns a sharp Goulburn trial and is a player. RIVERINA DEMAND (5) resumes and is up to this at best. McDougall sticking is a positive and she's got a good record here. SOCIAL SMILE (6) is a local who will be improved off the freshen. The gate and claim advantage.  SELECTIONS: A good contest but #3 Raven’s Rabbit should be winning. Matt Dale has a big strike rate when he brings horses here.

Mackay: Race 4 @ 2:57pm

Looks an average tempo - Upper Delight should have enough early pace to take it up. SCENT OF FEAR (6) surrendered a good early position then battled on fairly when beaten just 1.5 lengths over this distance at Rockhampton last start. Very fit mare who draws perfectly today and is hard to go past in a pretty shallow race. SPARKLING FACET (3) raced on the pace throughout when a game third, beaten 0.7 lengths over 1250m at Cairns last start. Hasn't been far from the money all prep and is certain to measure up again here. Looks a dead-set race in two. JACKOH (10) has been in the placings three in a row on the non-tab circuit. Going well enough to repeat the dose at good each-way odds UPPER DELIGHT (5) strips fitter and is next best.  SELECTIONS: Like #6 Scent Of Fear from the ace draw.

Moe: Race 3 @ 3:00pm

Strong pace with Swizzle Sticks the likely leader. ZOUPINO (3) has placed the last two in stronger grade. Needs a good ride but the claim is handy and she's ready to win at this level. IT'S A RAH (8) won this grade comfortably at Echuca and impressed in the way she did it. She draws to get a soft run and a repeat won't surprise. ENDURING LOVE (5) is a former Kiwi who resumed with a 64 win for a star yard. She also gets a handy claim and will keep improving. WHIPCRACKER WAY (1) resumes for the Stokes yard and two-back won the Maiden easily from the speed. He's likely to have come on, but needs a good ride from the 2kg claimer. SELECTIONS: Like # 3 Zoupino and will cover with #8 It’s A Rah each way.

Scone: Race 4 @ 3:25pm

Moderate speed with The Flasher and Superb Time prominent early. ANAKIN SKYWALKER (1) wound up when the race was all over to finish a close 5th when resuming over 1400m at Newcastle last start. Finds an easier maiden today and will appreciate the extra furlong. Promising type who is perfectly placed to break through. AUSTINMER (6) placed over this course and distance two runs back then closed nicely for 4th at Mudgee last time out over 1500m. Leading contender back in this scenario. RAINBOW MAN (2) followed a very good 2nd over the mile at Wyong two runs back with a poor effort at Gosford recently. Prefers the sting out of the ground but in a very shallow maiden can feature. ANOTHER SONETTE (5) is a non-winner but recent form has been okay. Top-four candidate. SELECTIONS: #1 Anakin Skywalker to win a very weak maiden.
