Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays for Australian TAB meetings on December 24

Racecourse : Wagga Picture: Murrumbidgee Turf Club

Two TAB meetings are held across Australia on this Thursday at Wagga & Ipswich.

Wagga: Race 6 @ 4:15pm

Off the low draw Scout should have enough speed to lead the way at a genuine tempo. FOREVER NEWYORK (4) toughed it out well when beating Kanerupt last start on the Riverside. These 1200m Open Handicaps on his home deck are what he lives & breathes. McDougall is happy to stick and so are we. Drawn for the gun run once again. TEJORI (8) is a nice mare but this is harder then restricted CL2 & CL3 Highways. She's taking on hardened gallopers who have 5-6 wins beside there name. Not convinced on her at 1200m also but if looking to the future, then she could turn out to be the best horse in this race in time. SCOUT (9) has the early toe to take up a position. First run for Mitch Beer was sound and can show improvement. STRAOVER (6) and CACCINI (1) are cagey gallopers who can win this on their day. SELECTIONS: Forever Newyork straight out.

Ipswich: Race 10 @ 5:25pm

Terrius can lead and there are a number who can keep him honest. TERRIUS (5) produced a fair run on return, finishing fifth over 1200m at this track. Has good early pace and is expected to show good improvement racing second up. Best figures should see him run well. JUDDER (9) ran well below best last time over 1600m at Ballina, beaten 5.5 lengths in fifth place when jumping at $1.90. Usual rider Andrew Mallyon engaged again. Can bounce back hard. FLENSBURG (7) is fresh from a lengthy spell. He's having his first start for the Gollan stable. Best form is over much further but respecting the market. FOREIGN TERRITORY (2) and SWEEPING THE BOARD (8) best of the rest. SELECTIONS: Keen on Terrius second up.
