Wellington: Race 7 @ 4.30pm
SIMCHA (7) has just missed both runs back with the latest a career peak. Expect him to have the tow to manage the sticky gate and he should be winning if he has. KOOTALOO (4) has been a round the mark without winning. He will settle handy and may be worth another chance. MISS EPORETTO (3) resumes off a long spell and has to be taken on trust. She would be very competitive at best. MISS HUGO A GOGO (6) resumes and has trialled well at Orange. She's capable and keep well onside. SELECTION: Backing #7 Simcha to win.

Taree: Race 4 @ 3.30pm

BOOM GATE (3) went back early from his wide draw over 1300m at Scone last time but failed to threaten when finishing 11th. Didn't have a lot of luck and only beaten 4 lengths. Yet to win at the distance but has recorded two placings from four tries and worth noting both career wins have been when second. Expecting huge improvement today. LUCKY FOR SOME (7) finished fourth last start over 2015m at Coffs Harbour, beaten 7 lengths. Back in trip and has the ability. Sure to prove tough to beat. RAZANO (5) doesn't win out of turn but ran a strong race last time over 1600m at this track when second and beaten a head. Yet to win at the distance but has recorded three placings from five tries and rates one of the contenders. FLYING MOJO (4) finished among the placings last time at Coffs Harbour and will be fitter. Jockey Jeff Kehoe who has two wins stays aboard today. Has to be respected. SELECTION: #3 Boom Gate to add to the good second up record.

Devonport: Race 8 @ 5.40pm
BANCA NIP (1) has delivered two of the last three and the latest here more than stacks up. Expect him to be belting home again. GEEGEES FIRST LADY (9) was plain at Longford but the near-miss here prior in 74 grade reads extra well. Draws to advantage and is a winning chance at each way odds. GEE GEE CAUGHTYA (6) also rates well following the 1L defeat this track behind Kanji. Keeps Newitt and gets a handy gate and soft run. RODESSA (11) was beaten a lip here two back and that's the effort to go on. The gate is against. SELECTION: #1 Banca Nip is the one to beat.
