Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays for Australian TAB meetings on January 25.
Australian thoroughbred TAB meetings today are held at Goulburn, Armidale, Warrnambool and Clare.
GOULBURN: RACE 7 @ 5:50 PM
Loveland (11) resumes off two city trials for a leading city yard and was just beaten at Kembla Grange on debut and immediately spelled. Gets the rails draw and is likely to have these covered if presented on-song. KUNG FU MUSHU (10) is a stablemate and comes off a much better effort at Kembla Grange. She should find some cover and has to be considered reaching peak fitness. REELCLASS (16) will be fitter off the two close-up efforts at Canberra and was heavily-backed the latest and had no luck at all in the straight. Needs a good ride but fitter can be in the finish. TWICE ON SUNDAY (14) is fast and can control the race. She has more to offer fourth-up and will take catching. SELECTIONS: Backing Loveland to win.

ARMIDALE: RACE 4 @ 3:30 PM
Hyperion Star (2) is fast and resumed in good order at Ipswich. He will use the rail and has very strong back-form. Fitter he's the one they have to beat. A MILLION DREAMS (1) reached peak fitness and can show a lot more on a dry track. Has the speed to manage the sticky gate and the form hoop rides first time. SHELLED (5) just missed here after a slow off and then won the Maiden coming home well. Needs a good ride but is a chance to go on. NEW YORK WORLD (4) wouldn't be far away with a repeat of the Gilgandra run two-back. SELECTIONS: Keen on Hyperion Star.
WARRNAMBOOL: RACE 4 @ 2:45 PMTycoon Bucks (13) is yet to break through after six career starts but was placed at Sandown-Lakeside two back before finishing fourth at Sandown-Lakeside last time. Much better suited here and rates a top chance to break through. SUN PERLE (12) turned in a fair debut when fifth at Echuca over 1000m starting at $11. Has upside and comes into calculations. REGAL RULER (7) is a three-year-old gelding by Vancouver out of Antique Belle stepping out on debut today. Handily bred from a stakes winning mare and expected to be in the finish. LAFORIA (10) finished among the placings last time when second at this track and should be further improved, rates one of the chances. NAUGHTON (3) sure to make his presence felt. SELECTIONS: Tycoon Bucks hard to beat this company.
CLARE: RACE 3 @ 2:30 PMRIVER (7) has placed the last four and there wasn't much in it resuming at Penola. She's improved and fitter this looks winnable for her running along. OUR TREASURE TROVE (6) worked into the placings at Bordertown and will use the low gate. Can make the finish reaching peak fitness. EAST CAPE (5) placed first-up at Bordertown and didn't get the best of it. He has more to give and keep safe. SHOPSTER (8) resumes and may be best of the rest. SELECTIONS: Backing River.
