Australian thoroughbred TAB meetings are today held at Canterbury, Flemington, Bathurst, Taree, Werribee and Rockhampton.

CANTERBURY: RACE 3 @ 6:45 PM

GRENADO (6) is the most experienced galloper in the field and has been getting better with every run. Has placed at this distance. Waller and McDonald combine and looks the one to beat in a small field. Team Hawkes bring TELEPORTER (2) to the races after only one trial so he must be showing something at home. Berry was onboard for that trial and sticks here for his debut. Disregard the last start for NISHIKORI (3) and go on promising second at his first start. Watch market moves for SILENT THUNDER (1) and ZOUFLU (9).
SELECTIONS: Grenado to win.

BATHURST: RACE 1 @ 1:05 PM

VALLEY PRINCE (10) led first-up just beaten at Nowra and is much improved. Draws to advantage and rates to take this out with that run under the belt. INTO THE FIRE (7) resumes for Bjorn Baker owning a Kembla Grange trial win. He's been gelded and has shown enough to say he will be very competitive. BLACK METEOR (3) had been threatening but flopped the latest. Gets the rail today and respect on the 4-day return. JUST A BROTHER (8) brings good figures to resumption and has trialled well. He's also respected.
SELECTIONS: Backing Valley Prince.

FLEMINGTON: RACE 5 @ 5:30 PM

KNOWLES (7) has been busting to win and looks well-placed in a race for non metropolitan winners. Was wide the latest and good beaten just 1.5L in a Sandown 64 as favourite. Her best figure was recorded in Listed grade here over 1000m and she'd win this comfortably with a return to anything like that. ZION (12) was beaten a lip this track and trip in the 70 and then went to another 70 at Caulfield and pulled up with an issue. He's back after 27 days and only has to be on-song to prove a danger. LA BELLA COSTA (6) has won and just missed the last two at this level the latest here. Reaches peak fitness and is a threat. PLATINI (3) won comfortably first-up as expected and has more to give. He won his only second-up start and can make the finish in a tougher contest. COMMODUS (8) resumes with a leading rider booked and is a first-up performer with plenty of ability. Needs to be kept safe at an each way quote.
SELECTIONS: Backing Knowles and taking a quinella with Zion.

ROCKHAMPTON: RACE 6 @ 4:52 PM

GENOA (2) goes very well here with two wins from three starts at Rockhampton and is in career best form lately. Speedy galloper who will take catching again. DISCO MO (1) finished a head back from the winner last start at this track and drawn perfectly. Continues to race well and looks a definite chance. THREE STRIPES (7) was well fancied last time when runner-up at this track, making it three straight seconds. Jumps up in trip today and gets chance. JUST JESSIE (9) finished second last start, beaten 0.8 lengths at this track over 1300m. Can figure in the finish. HEY PAL (5) resumes today following a recent trial at Rockhampton. Can figure.
SELECTIONS: Genoa hard to beat again.

TAREE: RACE 4 @ 2:35 PM

SEMIFOX (9) has switched yards on a 15 day return and has raced in Brisbane Maidens the last three. He will run along and should have these covered if presented on-song. OH NO BRO (1) can control the race and has just been beaten here both race starts. She can keep improving and is a genuine hope drawn low and keeping the 4kg claim. POP'S GLORY (8) has support but looked in need of the first-up run. She has more to give and should get a soft run from the rail. MY SONNY'S FAITH (3) finally gets a low gate and was tracking like a winner before the latest. Rates well and is worth another chance back up to the mile.
SELECTIONS: With Semifox.

WERRIBEE: RACE 4 @ 2:30 PM

LIMPET (3) has been going ok at the run at Moonee Valley over a mile earlier this month reads well for a race like this. Placed here in December so it handles the Werribee circuit. I AM CHICKASAW (7) should be ready to go will. Did ok to place last start at Pakenham. STELLA DE LA REALM (6) comes out of the same Valley race as Limpet. The run before here has produced good form since. Include in exotics along with PENSO A LEI (8) who didn't have a lot of luck on debut at Stawell. OUR LADIES MONEY (1) went around at the picnics last start and steps up. Another wider first four chance.
SELECTIONS: Quinella Limpet, I Am Chickasaw and Stella De La Realm.
