Australian thoroughbred TAB meetings are today held at Doomben, Pakenham, Bunbury and Wagga.

DOOMBEN: RACE 8 @ 5:50 PM

WOLF MOON (12) races handy and blitzed the Sunshine Coast Maidens on debut. Resumed for the new yard as a gelding and wasn't beaten far in a strong form race. He's been saved for this and gets a low gate and the blinkers on first time. Fitter now and he's the one to beat. EXPERT EYE (10) just missed resuming and is further improved. She will use the handy gate and fitter should be right in the finish. NO LAUGHING MATTER (5) missed the hat-trick here, but built her figures again and is in the mix drawn to advantage. TAVIS TOWN (1) gets a wide gate but can build on the second-up win at Eagle Farm. SELECTIONS: Backing Wolf Moon to win.

PAKENHAM: RACE 5 @ 8:00 PM

MAUI (9) was well-fancied last time at Sandown but failed to come on in the straight. Previous run was solid and should be further improved. Back on home track and looks hard to hold out. EL DIEZ (5) is a promising type who makes his way onto the Victorian scene after racing in North Queensland. In good hands and pay to follow any market moves. KEY TO THE MAK (3) worked home soundly first-up after a lengthy spell. Fitter and can improve this time out. SAHAR (2) made up a lot of ground here at most recent outing and must be included in the chances in this line up.
SELECTIONS: Back Maui.

BUNBURY: RACE 9 @ 4:45 PM

TESTING LOVE (9) capped the first preparation with and easy Maiden win again heavily-bet. She's very promising and is sure to be further improved. Pike sticks and will give her every chance from the good gate. COMEALILBITCLOSER (3) deserved the win here when she sat back in the small field. She will push forward and is a chance to repeat at an each way quote. CASTILLO DEL LAGO (1) led beaten 1L first-up as favourite and has more to give. He's a player but the apprentice needs some luck pushing forward from the wide gate. THE THUNDERESS (10) brings good figures to peak and can't be ruled out back in grade and freshened. GINGER MACK (2) deserved the easy Maiden win at Ascot. Needs to find more but goes into the exotics.
SELECTIONS: Backing Testing Love to win.

WAGGA: RACE 1 @ 1:25 PM

One for Parramatta Eels fans, KING GUTHO (2) was competitive in town last start when finishing fifth at Randwick beaten under four lengths. Prior to that wasn't far away in both runs at Canberra. Gets 1.5kg off with the claim and has race experience over some of his rivals. Looks hard to beat. PEPPER MOON (10) has only had one trial but showed enough there to be a chance in a race like this. Drawn well in gate two and in-form McDougall on board is a plus. Can threaten on debut. LOOSE LOVE (3) placed over this distance last time out and can improve again. FLYING SQUAD (8) is very well-bred and another who showed enough in her trial to keep safe. NOBLE NIGHTOWL (4) has had the benefit of two trials and may figure.
SELECTIONS: King Gutho to win.
