Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays for Australian TAB thoroughbred meetings on February 24.
Australian thoroughbred TAB meetings are today held at Sandown, Ascot, Gosford, Ipswich and Penola.
SANDOWN-HILLSIDE: RACE 1 @ 3:40 PM
BELLINGER (2) has missed a lip both runs this preparation after slow starts. Ran favourite at Pakenham the latest and fitter is clearly the one to beat with Lane going on. BUBLE BOY (1) was plain third-up but the run prior was encouraging and he's still to reach his peaks. Kah's booking suggests that might be close. OLD FASHIONED (4) has been good both starts and hasn't had the best of it. Gets a better gate today is capable of making the finish. OUR GINGER NINJA (7) made good improvement here, hitting the line okay once she got clear air. She won't be 100-1 today and is well in the mix. IMAGINE HOWE (3) finished just behind the above in that contest settling back after a slow start. He's better than the formline suggests.

ASCOT: RACE 6 @ 4:15 PM
TRIPLE MISSILE (4) looks like it has ability and there's positives to why it can go on today. Rain, if that eventuates, won't be an issue. HOT TECHNIQUE (7) will be suited if they're running on by this stage of the day. Right in it and the main danger. MASTERING (1) was held up at a crucial time last start here. Has had excuses recently and today is the day to show more. Can place. REACTION (11) has the right gate and can use it to advantage. Trifecta hope at the trip. ORANGE STRUDEL (10) cost itself by laying out in the run a couple of runs back. Excuses with travelling wide last start. Can be in the finish and has to go in first fours at least.
SELECTIONS: Triple Missile the win.
GOSFORD: RACE 4 @ 4:05 PM
LA GRISA (1) was dominant when winning in town last start beating most of the opposition she faces here. Drawn to get a soft run from gate one and Berry has had two rides for a win and a placing. Can go on with it. CASTEL SANT'ANGELO (2) was much improved second-up when running third to La Grisa. Will be much fitter third-up and can be in the finish. SPACE IS DEEP (4) has been gradually increasing her distances and will be rock-hard fit fifth-up here. Can be in the mix. PRINCE CAMELOT (9) has placed at this track and trip and comes in well at the weights with the 2kg claim. Must include in multiples. SAVVY VALENTINO (8) ran second over this track and distance two starts back and can feature again.
SELECTIONS: La Grisa to win.
IPSWICH: RACE 6 @ 4:29 PM
JAKAMA (3) brought good figures to resumption and wasn't beaten far as favourite. Was backed again here after and won the 65 easily overcoming trouble. The in-form Stanley stays with him and can deliver again. EMMA'S JET (1) hasn't been far away in town the last two and they stack right up. In good hands and gets another chance. RAINS APLENTY (7) (despite the monster odds) made a ratings spike beaten 1.5L behind Chauffeur racing handier. Keeps Byrne and would be right in it with a repeat of that. LIABILITY (5) is better than the formline suggests. He will use the low gate and can pop up without surprising.
SELECTIONS: Backing Jakama in a good contest.
PENOLA: RACE 8 @ 5:10 PM
FOUR OUTLAWS (3) ran two handy races at Warrnambool before being well backed when a strong winner here last time over Back In Action. He draws a nice barrier and looks hard to beat. HALO'S QUEST (4) was a good Warrnambool maiden winner last time out and that form should measure-up strongly here. BUBBLERAP (2) has been placed at 3 of 6 starts here and ran through line strongly at Naracoorte last time behind Saduka. SADUKA (6) scored a big odds at Naracoorte two runs back before a good run at Morphettville behind Mavette last week. O'MIZZNA (9) led and was only reeled in last in the race won by Saduka at Naracoorte and draws a good barrier with a claim.
SELECTIONS: Four Outlaws to win again.
