Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays for Australian TAB thoroughbred meetings on March 4.
Australian thoroughbred TAB meetings are today held at Port Macquarie, Pakenham, Werribee and Ipswich.
PORT MACQUARIE: RACE 5 @ 3:40 PM
You'd struggle to find a more consistent galloper than GROUP THINK (5). Has finished in the top five at his past 12 consecutive starts including two fourths in city Highways. Looker has had four steers for a win and two placings and is drawn to get a soft run from gate three. The one to beat. CAMP RIFLE (3) beat Group Think last start but is slightly worse off at the weights here. Will be fitter fourth-up and drawn the inside box. The main danger. MISTERZEE (9) has placed at this trip and gets 2kg off. Is in the mix. WAR CAT (6) loves this track with a win and a second from two attempts. ALLEZ REV (7) has placed at the journey and goes well for Jones. Include in multiples.

PAKENHAM: RACE 4 @ 7:30 PM
DEEPSTRIKE (5) returns from a break. Contested stakes level in Adelaide at first campaign. Primed for return with a trial placing and bold showing expected. SASSYSAV (11) worked home well from back in the field on debut. Will be improved by the experience and the rise in trip is a plus. Should go close. DEBULLET (7) came in for support and hit the line soundly when resuming. Fitter this time around and expected to make a bold bid. DANCE OF THUNDER (4) showed improvement with the rise in trip last time and with added improvement won't be too far away. Respect.
SELECTIONS: Back Deepstrike.
WERRIBEE: RACE 3 @ 2:30 PM
DISSONANCE (5) comes out of a race at Moonee Valley in early February that has delivered some good form since. This event really looks to suit and could be one of the better chances of the day. STONEFIELD (8) takes on an easier task than the Caulfield run. Has a few gear changes since last time and has been gelded. Expecting improvement. FIOROSO (2) might need the run but the performance at Terang last time puts it in the trifecta mix. More of a first four chance here along with HARTACK (6) who won a trial here but the barrier is a disadvantage. BLACK INK (1) needs to show more but if you're looking for a wider first four chance then throw this one in.
SELECTIONS: Dissonance the win.
IPSWICH: RACE 5 @ 4:10 PM
BLUE KENTUCKY MOON (4) resumes seeking the hat-trick and was beaten 3L at Doomben in the Open 3. Has come off a big trial win and delivered at his only second-up start. Gets the blinkers first time and can win for the sharp yard with the in-form Maloney sticking. DR WHY NOT (2) was straight back into it first-up leading and winning the Gold Coast 62. He should be fast enough to manage the wide gate and gets the chance to repeat. RED WABBAT (12) should find cover and go on the high-rating effort at Doomben two-back. Disappointed as favourite after and is worth another chance. FRUSTRATED (1) was just beaten here as favourite in stronger grade but hasn't won for a long time and that's the query.
