Major metropolitan meetings are today held at Rosehill, Ascot, Morphettville and Colac.

ROSEHILL: RACE 1 @ 12:35 PM

GREAT HOUSE (4) was simply left with too much to do from the wide draw last start when just peaking on his run late. Drawn much better here and the blinkers go on for the first time. Rates well and looks very hard to beat with Berry sticking aboard. TOSCANINI (7) proved too strong on-speed at Randwick (K) last start and while this is a step up, he is three-year-old trending the right way and should appreciate the extra 100m. WELSH LEGEND (6) should be at her peak now third up and looms as a major threat with McDonald sticking aboard. KISS THE BRIDE (1) has mixed his form, but is more than capable when right and has to be kept safe.
SELECTIONS: Very keen on Great House with the blinkers going on.

ASCOT: RACE 5 @ 2:44 PM

SOLAIA (1) was taken on relentlessly on the speed last time and was game in finishing second beaten less than a length. With even luck she can atone here. RELIABLE STAR (3) broke through last week at start four and she's right up to giving this a shake with the confidence up. BRAVE ANGEL (2) was the beneficiary of the speed battle when beating Solaia second-up. Has to be considered but doubt she can repeat. PURE DEVOTION (5) and SUNSET CRUISE (4) are the other hopes.
SELECTIONS: Solaia to win. Trifecta 1-2,3,4,5/2,3,4,5.

MORPHETTVILLE PARKS: RACE 6 @ 3:36 PM

HUFFINGTON (1) might have to take a sit though but can still be a big factor. She comes from a flying stable and has raced good tough opposition in Melbourne. This sets up nicely. CALIPARI (2) has changed stables and had fair NSW form. This at least should be easier company. HATEECH (5) chases three on the trot. The resuming win was strong from back in the field. CHAMPAGNE AFFAIR (6) went well leading so could try that again. Will have fans. SPANISH HEIRLOOM (4) is one after four on the bounce. They were in the country but hard to knock a winner.
SELECTIONS: Backing Huffington.

COLAC: RACE 4 @ 2:51 PM

DU WELL (3) has to be close to a win after missing narrowly last start at Werribee. Sticks to a similar trip and can atone today. Might pay to forget SHERIFF JOHN STONE (2) where a lot went wrong. Any rain would really help it's chances but on ability could be in the finish in this. FOREVER LOUD (1) covered extra ground last start and looking at the run before that did well to place at Stony Creek when doing the same. Could be the value runner. STICKS (4) mist be frustrating for connections. Rates as a trifecta chance at best.
SELECTIONS: Du Well the win.
