Australian thoroughbred TAB meetings are today held at Sale, Coonamble and Hawkesbury .

SALE: RACE 5 @ 3:30 PM

CAPTAIN SPUD (3) was heavily-bet and missed 1L resuming at Sandown from the speed and then was backed again winning the Maiden here from the front. Draws to control the race and will be hard to beat again. CRIMINAL (2) raced favourite resuming at Sandown this level and pulled up with an issue. Is back after 34 days and rates strongly at best. Expect sharp improvement. FLOREAT PICA (4) finally gets a low gate and is holding a decent level of form. He's capable of making the finish. MISS GOBCAIN (7) will race over further but is worth a look on resumption. She's an improver with a future.
SELECTIONS: Backing Captain Spud.

COONAMBLE: RACE 6 @ 4:45 PM

Feature race of the day with the top two qualifying for the rich Country Championships final at Royal Randwick. JAILBREAK (1) was very good winning in town first-up and has won two from five second-up. Is one from one at this track and looks the hardest to run down. WILD ROCKET (10) is in career best form winning four of her past five starts. Will strip fitter third-up and looks a big danger. ACTIVATION (3) loves this distance range with two wins from two attempts and must be respected. PATRICK MAY (2) is a model of consistency and can be in the frame again. EVA'S DEEL (7) won a Highway two starts back and must be included in exotics.
SELECTIONS: Jailbreak to win.

HAWKESBURY: RACE 7 @ 4:55 PM

ELEUSA (7) placed first-up on the Newcastle slow when expected to need it. She has plenty up the sleeve and will make sharp improvement. The wide gate shouldn't bother too much today and expect the lightly-raced filly to go close. SELEQUE (3) won the Warwick Farm Maiden first-up and four winners have come out of that. Placed there after in the 68 and McDonald sticks from both. He will ride the speed from the rail and the blinkers are on again. Feared. YARDSTICK (1) was gelded and ran into the finish on resumption. Has plenty up the sleeve and will be hard to peg back running along. FLASH POINT (6) is a local busting to win and also deserved plenty of consideration.
SELECTIONS: The betting edge can be with Eleusa each way.
