Australian thoroughbred TAB meetings are today held at Hawkesbury, Sandown-Hillside, Gawler, Wagga and Doomben.

HAWKESBURY: RACE 4 @ 3:10 PM

MAURICE'S MEDAD (7) was very good placing in town last time out. Will be at peak fitness fourth-up and looks the one they have to catch. KAHUKA (1) has been thereabouts in recent metropolitan trials and has drawn perfectly for his debut in gate two. From an astute stable and must be respected. TOOSTAR (8) was a good third last time out and is drawn the inside gate. Fitter now and is in the mix. GOLDEN CHANCES (12) gets 3kg off and can earn a cheque.
SELECTIONS: Maurice's Medad to win.

SANDOWN-HILLSIDE: RACE 3 @ 2:10 PM

ALWAYS IN MOMENT (10) raced below expectation one a wet track on debut and put away again. Returned with a big maiden win at Pakenham and down 0.5kg from last run. Fitter and expected to measure up again. MISTER YU SHU (2) closed off nicely when beaten 0.9 lengths last time at Pakenham. Winning chance and bold showing expected. STAREDOWN (6) is coming off a win at Terang and down 1kg from last run. Dominated last time and same rider aboard. Expected to be in the mix again. HINTO BLUE (5) finished in the money last start running second at Pakenham and should strip fitter. Rates one of the chances. COMPARDY (4) was back in winning form last start when he scored at Kyneton - ready to take another step forward third-up from a break.
SELECTIONS: Stick with Always In Moment.

GAWLER: RACE 3 @ 1:20 PM

POINT BLAZE (12) deserves to break through and has been placed at three of six, the latest at Morphettville behind Zero Inn. That's a solid pointer for this and she gets her chance. HOLY GANGES (11) was placed at Benalla two runs back and her Victorian form is OK for a race like this. CELTIC VALOUR (2) resumes here and wasn't far away last time in work and has jumped out OK. MUM'S ADVICE (8) ran well when 3rd at Clare and was again good at Bordertown just behind the placegetters last time. CARRY THE MUSKEY (1) is drawn off the track but has claims on Balaklava placing two starts back.
SELECTIONS: Point Blaze to break through.

WAGGA: RACE 2 @ 1:39 PM

This looks a suitable race for OPENHIMUP (5) to finally break through. Goes well at this track and trip with two placings from three attempts and is drawn perfectly in gate two. Has placed on all going and looks very hard to beat here third-up from the spell. BALEDON (8) surprised at big odds on debut with a solid second over this trip at Albury. Will take plenty of benefit from that race experience and can be in the finish again. DEFIANT HEART (10) was a bit disappointing last start but go on two handy placings prior to the spell. PLATARA (12) has been close-up in two trials and it will pay to respect any market moves on debut. I'M GONNA BE (1) best of the rest with the 2kg claim.
SELECTIONS: Openhimup to win.

DOOMBEN: RACE 7 @ 4:14 PM

RHYME TIME (2) looks like one of the better bets of the day second-up. Can'r see the competition being too hard to overcome to put two-in-a-row. HENLEY MISS (6) scored at Toowoomba last start. That was an improvement on the run here before that. Quinella chance at least. IAMICAN (4) improved its manners when placing here in late March. Likes the 1200m and any rain would improve chances. ENTERPRISE KEREN (8) kept on well enough at Sunshine Coast last time. More a trifecta chance today.
SELECTIONS: Rhyme Time the win.
