Australian thoroughbred TAB meetings are today held at Tamworth, Cranbourne, Werribee, Gatton and Canberra.

TAMWORTH: RACE 3 @ 1:50 PM

C'MON AND LOVE ME (12) has been thereabouts in both starts to date at this track. Will take plenty of natural improvement from those outings and comes in well at the weights with the 2kg claim. Drawn handy and looks the hardest to beat. CROSS STEP (13) was a good trial winner before not being disgraced on debut when racing on pace. Will be fitter now and looks a major player. ANSELMO (5) has placed two from two including a close-up second at Doomben. Must be respected. WRITTEN VERSE (14) placed at Gold Coast on debut before switching stables. A big watch. KENNYWYN (2) has had a lot of chances but has placed four of his past five and is a must for multiples.
SELECTIONS: C'mon And Love Me to win.

CANBERRA: RACE 6 @ 3:25 PM

PROPOSE TO ME (3) won the 75 here comfortably before being beaten 1.4L at Muswellbrook in better grade. The extra 200m won't bother and 2x winning rider McDougall reunites with the Matt Dale-trained galloper. Promising and the mare is the one to beat. ZELAGO (2) also rates strongly and has never raced better. Missed a lip in the corresponding race two weeks ago and the speedy galloper will take pegging back again. PERFECT PITCH (6) comes out of the same race and didn't have much luck as favourite. The gate's tricky but she gets in very well at the weights with a 3kg claim. Always puts in and can't be ruled out. EL PRADOS (8) led in that contest just beaten. A chance if he runs the longer sprint right out.
SELECTIONS: Backing Propose To Me to win.

CRANBOURNE: RACE 6 @ 8:30 PM

MADE BY KHAN (2) was impressive leading throughout to claim his maiden win at Mornington first-up. Drawn for a nice run and rates among the leading chances. VOLATORE (3) is lightly-raced and resumed with a solid effort at Sandown. Strips fitter this time and is likely to be suited by the rise in journey. Expected to go close. TRENCH WARFARE (4) had been racing well before a rise in trip last time found him out. Can bounce back here. BOMBER'S KISS (5) failed to raise his backer's hopes at any stage last time. Previous run was solid and is worth another chance. SELECTIONS: Back Maid By Khan.

GATTON: RACE 5 @ 2:34 PM

SPIRITOMO (5) just missed here first-up and has won 2/2 second-up. She's a promising filly who will use the handy gate and the 2kg claim assists. The one to beat. FINAL DECLARATION (1) resumes and is much better than the formline suggests. The fresh record is strong and a leading hoop rides from the low gate. The market will say if he's on-song. PATENTED (2) is ex Victoria resuming after 101 days for the new yard. The fresh record reads well and he has the speed to manage the sticky gate. Keep very safe. MR STACK (3) will be fitter and may prove best of the rest.
SELECTIONS: With Spiritomo.

WERRIBEE: RACE 2 @ 2:00 PM

STRATEGY (6) just needs to settle better in the run than it did at Cranbourne earlier this month. Wasn't beaten far and the form around its races so far is ok. Can break through here. LA ISLA BONITA (10) beat home My Squeeze Louise, who went around in the Tasmanian Oaks, in a Flemington jump out on 9 April. Looked promising that morning and a win can't be far off. KEEP YA DISTANCE (4) placed in a Flemington jump out on 16 April. May need the run but can place at least. FROGGY (1) has had a long time off and also might need the run but can go in wider exotics. IGBO (2) returned ok at Benalla but is another for first fours.
SELECTIONS: La Isla Bonita each-way if the odds allow.
