Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays at Australian TAB meetings for June 9.
Australian thoroughbred TAB meetings are today held at Canterbury, Sale, Sunshine Coast, Belmont and Strathalbyn.
CANTERBURY: RACE 5 @ 3:15 PM
FASTCONI (5) has been honest this time in and goes well here with three placings from three starts. Will be nearing peak fitness for this and has drawn well for McDonald in gate three. Deserves a win and should be going very close. EL COHETE (2) has a fantastic second-up record with two wins from two attempts. Has placed on all going and is a winner over this trip. Looks a key player. VISCACHA (4) has only missed the top four once in eight starts and can be right in the finish again. STOICAL (6) was a strong winner first-up and can go right on with it now. Must be respected. KINLOCH (7) placed over this journey last start and is one for the multiples.
SELECTIONS: Fastconi to win.

SALE: RACE 1 @ 12:00 PM
DEBULLET (8) didn't have the best of it first-up beaten 2L and was caught wide here after. Has a heavy track placing this track and trip in the CV and should be ready to fire. RAID THE BAR (6) can control the race and wasn't beaten far here at his third start. Just has to see out the extra trip to be a serious player. BE CURIOUS (2) will be fitter and needs this distance. Expect him to be very competitive. BARELY A CHALLENGE (1) may be best of the rest.
SELECTIONS: Debullet should be ready to fire.
SUNSHINE COAST: RACE 5 @ 2:58 PM
GOLDSBOROUGH (1) won as expected first-up at 70 level before missing 1.2L at Doomben in much stronger than this. He will box-seat from the low barrier and fitter should have these covered. SPIRIT HOUSE (5) improved again for the top yard winning the 64 this track and trip. Keeps getting better and draws well. Each way. MODELKA (4) resumes and the latest trial was a lot sharper. Has won and placed fresh his last two starts in better grade. She's promising and may go on with it this campaign. LIZA WITH A ZEE (7) has won 2/3 this preparation and fitter can't be ruled out with the weight relief.
SELECTIONS: Backing Goldsborough to win.
STRATHALBYN: RACE 7 @ 3:45 PM
LUTZ (2) was well backed and got the job done easily here last time beating Humback. He's a progressive 3yo who looks the testing material again here from a middle gate. MULGA LIL (3) led them up and was too good at Penola last time out. She draws to be on speed again and is going to be in the mix, the extra trip could be a query. HUMPBACK (9) was good behind Lutz here last time and should get a nice run from barrier three and should be in the finish. A KNIGHT IN PARIS (8) will get back and should thrive over the extra trip here and back on his home track. LUCADONIS (10) was placed at Mildura last time our and I worth some thought in a race like this.
SELECTIONS: Lutz to be too good for these.
