Major metropolitan meetings are today held at Randwick, Flemington, Doomben and Belmont Park,

RANDWICK: RACE 8 @ 3:35 PM

REMARQUE (3) won well on debut before not disgraced in the Todman when only two lengths off Anamoe. Has trialled as you would expect leading into this and given he hasn't won anything he gets in well at the weights. Drawn to get a lovely soft run and should prove hard to beat. MAZU (2) is also very promising as he should have won the Pago Pago prior to a break. Bred to be better over further this time in but can certainly sprint well fresh. IN THE CONGO (7) looks the most likely to take it up and has residual fitness on his side. Big show. PAULELE (1) gives weight away but still has to be included in the main hopes.
SELECTIONS: Keen on 'Boom' colt Remarque in his return.

FLEMINGTON: RACE 8 @ 4:30 PM

Plenty of interest in the return of AYSAR (3) who hasn't done a lot of winning but he has run some big races. Placed in a Guineas, and a Carbine here, and was only edged out by the subsequent Oakleigh Plate winner when resuming last time around at 1200m. He's well suited but will do well to beat BANQUO (8) who travelled strongly last time but just didn't put the race away. Gets the blinkers on now to help him turn the tables on THE ASTROLOGIST (5) who was really well ridden there and has been good in the Bletchingly since. ORDER OF COMMAND (2) had no luck at all there. He will go well. KING OF HASTINGS (9) off a win in Queensland and SIRIUS SUSPECT (11) at his home track where he flies are others to consider in a deep heat.
SELECTIONS: Deep and interesting race. Banquo looks a good each way play in the blinkers.

DOOMBEN: RACE 3 @ 12:33 PM

TRAMONTO (5) is back from a nine week spell having performed well over the carnival. Last seen when going down by a head in the Listed Queensland Day Stakes and was also runner up in the G3 Gold Coast Guineas. Goes well fresh and has the class edge. SHANJOMI (7) took on an open three-year-old race last start and wasn't too far away. Better suited here having won in this grade fresh and has a good strike rate. Go well. CONTEMPTUOUS (1) finished last campaign with two wins and two placings from his last four. Has a 50 per cent strike rate fresh and has trialled. Keep safe. SPIRIT HOUSE (8) just missed last time when fourth in a blanket finish over 1000m at Eagle Farm. Goes well over this shorter trip. Among the chances. Looking for improvement from AVIEMORE (6) second up.
SELECTIONS: Tramonto to make a winning return.

BELMONT PARK: RACE 3 @ 1:02 PM

WILCHINO (4) rebounded after shock first-up failure, where she had excuses, for a dominant on pace win at this track last week. Races handy and clearly on top here. EXPRESS TIME (1) was a strong winner two starts back then just a bit below par in his latest. More than capable of improving. PEARLS AND PRAWNS (2) had excuses second-up after racing wide so forgive that and go on solid first-up win. Is in the mix. DAISHIO (5) and CITY CIRCLE (7) are each-way chances.
SELECTIONS: Wilchino to win.
