EIGER (1) is fast and deserved the comfortable Scone win. Was just okay in Open grade after and keeps the 3kg claim. Has the speed to manage the wide gate and can bounce on the quick return. HEZA GENTLEMAN (9) led and placed at Randwick (K) the latest at long odds and rates strongly. Draws for a soft run and is feared with Costin replacing the apprentice. SLATEY BAY (2) was just beaten three times here and prepared to forgive the plainer effort after at Forbes. On a quick return and expect a much better effort. WISHFILLY (7) flopped at Newcastle in better grade but the three close-up efforts here prior stack up. Gets the 2kg claim and will use the rail. In the mix. SELECTION: Backing Eiger to win.

BENDIGO: RACE 1 @ 12:00 PM
VILANCULOS (9) has shown promise as a stayer with a placing to her credit at Listed level in the Geelong Classic. She looks ready to show her best here out to 2400m third up off a close up run in town last start behind the talented Seiners Express. MAREE DE LUNE (7) has placed at her past two starts including two starts ago behind the promising Parisian Dancer. On breeding she should excel at the trip and she appeals strongly each way. SHINE AND DANDY (5) is another who should appreciate getting out to 2400m and is worth including in the exotics. MAGIC HAMMER (4) is proven in this distance range and should be thereabouts again. EQUINE PHILOSOPHER (3) can be forgiven for last start and a better reference is his form prior. Look for improvement here with a gear change. SELECTION: Vilanculos can break through.
KILCOY: RACE 4 @ 1:25 PM
PURE PURGATORY (2) rates best and has placed 2/2 fresh. Has been unlucky in better races and the new yard should have her ready to go. The one they have to beat. KESSEL RUN (4) improved at the Sunshine Coast and Stewart sticking is a plus. Gets the blinkers off and fitter can make the finish. DELLVAK (1) is a former Victorian resuming for the new barn. Gets a good gate and the debut effort suggests he has a future. UBER JET (3) is an improver drawn wide buy is advantaged by Cartwright's booking. FLECKERL (9) is better than the formline suggests. Finds easier grade and is certainly good enough at best. SELECTION: Backing Pure Purgatory.
SUNSHINE COAST: RACE 7 @ 5:05 PM
THE RITZ (3) is promising and resumes off the Eagle Farm placing in much better company. Brings sharp trials and the red-hot hoop sticks off the latest. The barn is flying and promising gelding should be winning. KOLLUR (11) was good resuming at Eagle Farm and then went back and won the Maiden. Draws to advantage and won't have to improve much to be a player. ASWAAT (10) missed a lip here quickly finding form for the new barn. His best Melbourne from would have him right in it. BETTER LAD (4) is going much better than the formline suggests. Peaks off Group company and keeps very safe. SELECTION: Backing The Ritz.
