Australian thoroughbred Tab meetings are today held at Hawkesbury, Gunnedah, Ballarat, Mackay and Broome.

HAWKESBURY: RACE 5 @ 3:40 PM

FAYERRA (9) drops back in grade after finishing 3L away at Kensington when resuming from a long break. Wasn't disgraced in the G1 Champagne Stakes last campaign. Will prove hard to beat with Hugh Bowman taking the ride. DA NANG STAR (1) was beaten 2L at Kensington last start and rises in distance today. Draws well and is a leading chance on current form. SABINO (5) wasn't far away on debut at Gosford and gets onto a bigger track today. Kerrin McEvoy takes the ride and he's sure to be in the finish. KING OF HEARTS (3) ran on from last to be beaten 2.3L at Kembla Grange last start. McDonald sticks and he's not to be discounted. CLOUD HOPPER (7) wasn't disgraced on debut and will benefit from the experience. Keep safe.
SELECTIONS: Going with Fayerra to get her maiden win.

GUNNEDAH: RACE 5 @ 3:25 PM

WITHOUT SHAME (1) resumes today with a single public trial under his belt over the 900m at Scone where he finished in third. Was handy last preparation winning and placing in all four of his runs. Is drawn well and gets in well at the weights with the apprentice claiming 2kgs. Top selection. MATERNAL GIFT (4) was a dominant last start winner when leading all the way to salute by 3.5L at Cowra. Is drawn to advantage and expect her to give them something to catch. Big threat. TRUMPED UP (3) has been racing consistently, narrowly missing by under a length last stat at Tamworth over the distance. Apprentice claims 3kgs, expect him to be charging late. Can't dismiss. FREETHINKER (7) is racing well, was a half length victor at Moree in his last outing when third up. Expected to be cherry ripe for this and presents as a danger. Worth considering.
SELECTIONS: Siding with Without Shame.

BALLARAT SYNTHETIC: RACE 6 @ 3:30 PM

Competitive. EXPECTANT (5) resumed here in good order and then came back and had a luckless run beaten 2L. He has plenty up the sleeve and gets in well with the 3kg claim. Fitter he will be hard to beat. TERRACOTTA (11) is in good hands and is better than the formline suggests. Needs a good ride but no surprise of she gets back to her best racing on the synthetic for the first time. LA CROFT (10) just missed here as favourite two-back and the winning hoop is reunited. Is worth another chance. RED PERONI (4) recorded his best figure in Stakes grade and showed better form second-up in stronger than this. Gets a big weight lift but has the small claim for a promising apprentice. A player.
SELECTIONS: Backing Expectant at a value price.

MACKAY: RACE 3 @ 1:57 PM

Impossible to go post the locally trained GAMBOA (5). Has recorded four wins from six starts here at home, including last start in a race that has produced a few winners since. Drawn for a soft run and will be hard to beat again. SVINDAL (6) is another local who won here last time. Up in class but drops in weight and jockey unbeaten while aboard. Can measure up. MONSIEUR MACRON (1) found plenty when winning by a head two runs back at Townsville then led over much further last time and stuck on well for a narrow fourth. Freshened and back in trip. Looks a strong each way chance. QUIDNI (2) is a last start winner at Cairns. Is a maiden from 10 tries here at home but in the minors seven times. In form and at peak and cannot be underestimated. ZATORIO (3) can do much better.
SELECTIONS: Stick with Gamboa.

BROOME: RACE 3 @ 2:45 PM

THE FIBONACCI (2) ran fifth last start at this track over 1300m when beaten 11 lengths. The start before though, over this journey, was an 11 length winner. The extra ground a big plus here and had excuses. Given another chance. NOBLE SPIRIT (4) knuckled down strongly when finished a head from the winner. Continues to race well and looks a clear danger. CHEVAL DE VAGA (3) finished in the money last start running third at this track and should strip fitter. Overdue and should feature again. STUMBLE (1) has been in the market at his last couple of starts but hasn't made an impression, last start running eighth at this track. Can sneak into the finish on best form. KALAKAUA (5) has three placings from five starts this campaign and finished 7 lengths off the winner last start at this track. Place hope.
SELECTIONS: Giving The Fibonacci another chance.
