Australian thoroughbred Tab meetings are today held at Lismore, Hawkesbury, Cranbourne and Ipswich.

LISMORE: RACE 8 @ 5:05 PM

JACKSPRAT (1) made a ratings spike leading and winning comfortably here this grade. He keeps the handy 3kg claim and draws to ride the speed. Has to come back to a sprint but he's the one to beat. QUKES (11) seeks the hat-trick off a 4.5L BM50 win at Armadale. Sits low in the weights and won't have to improve much to go close. SUGAR ZONE (2) also seeks the hat-trick and did it easy here the latest this grade. Has a handy claim and the speed to manage the sticky gate. He's also a hope. HUMANITARIAN (8) won the Maiden here on the same day and a leading hoop is reunited. Peaks and can make the frame.
SELECTIONS: Backing Jacksprat to win.

CRANBOURNE: RACE 6 @ 4:00 PM

PEPPER'S GHOST (3) was heavily supported and raced to an impressive win here last time. Up in weight but looks well up to the task again. OCEAN HEART (1) travelled on the speed and won with authority at Echuca last time. Looks up to a race like this. Should go close. INTO RIO (2) will be fitter for three runs back from a break and put the writing on the wall over a shorter trip last time. Won't be far away. NEWZEEL DEAL (7) backed up a Sale maiden win with a solid effort at Geelong last time. Back in trip here but is fit and cannot be discounted.
SELECTIONS: Back Pepper's Ghost to win.

IPSWICH: RACE 8 @ 5:15 PM

NORM'S CHOICE (5) has needed both runs back in better company and is a third-up winner with more to give. Gets the key jockey switch to Orman and fitter can take this out. TREASURE OF GOLD (6) got too far back here in stronger class, but had led and was just beaten at Toowoomba prior. That stacks up and he's worth another chance. WEARETENFORTYEIGHT (8) won the 58 as expected and keeps the 2kg claim. She can make the finish. TEST OF WAR (1) has won two of the last three and the latest was in Open grade in the bush. Gets a small claim and is also a hope.
SELECTIONS: With Norm's Choice.
