Major metropolitan meetings are today held at Rosehill, Belmont Park, Morphettville Parks and Sandown-Hillside.

ROSEHILL: RACE 8 @ 4:05 PM

ANAMOE (1) was simply too good for them first up in the Run To The Rose and suspect he can only improve further second up. Bit of a tricky draw for McDonald to negotiate but with even luck he should have these covered. ARTORIUS (2) shapes as the main danger having beaten Anamoe before in the Blue Diamond. Two tune up runs in Melbourne should have him ready to explode and expect him to track Anamoe everywhere he goes. REMARQUE (7) was no match for Anamoe last start but did have some excuses and can improve out in trip while IN THE CONGO (5) looks the likely leader and should give a good kick.
SELECTIONS: Very keen on Anamoe.

BELMONT PARK: RACE 7 @ 2:11 PM

LAVERROD (2) is a smart sprinter who competed well in Victoria last time in. Back home and trialling well, he's clearly on top in this field. MASSIMO (3) resumes for a new stable and was only fair last time in. Seems to have come up well on his trial effort and commands some respect. VALOUR ROAD (1) was a Group 3 winner over a mile before a spell but is never too far away regardless of the distance. Keep in mind. WATCH ME DANCE (4) and MYSTICAL VIEW (9) have some claims.
SELECTIONS: Laverrod to win. Trifecta 2-1,3,4,9/1,3,4,9.

MORPHETTVILLE PARKS: RACE 8 @ 4:48 PM

ALLEBOOM (2) did so well to hang on two weeks back. He looked like being grabbed but held them at bay. This is a weaker race but he gets more weight. The claim is a big help there. THOMPSON'S REWARD (3) has form around some nice horses. Will be back in the field and hitting the line. LARKHAM (7) usually runs well here. Must have done well to back up. TAKEN OFF (1) only goes well on firmer tracks so can run a race on that.
SELECTIONS: Hard to go past Alleboom.

SANDOWN-HILLSIDE: RACE 5 @ 2:30 PM

Loved the return of CHERRY TORTONI (6) who ran up to win the race, went past the highly-fancied favourite, but might have just peaked on the run and was picked off last hop. He can be fitter for that and a small field and a rolling gallop here can prove ideal. ELEPHANT (2) will be up setting that gallop. Strong winner at his Australian debut then beaten for the first time last start but hardly disgraced. Edged out by a good horse there and must have a great shot at this. HARBOUR VIEWS (3) surprised winning fresh off a long break. Beat Cherry Tortoni there so that has to be respected. ZIEGFELD (5) may be better suited back to 1500m. Failed to finish off last time.
SELECTIONS: Keen on Cherry Tortoni second up.
