Australian thoroughbred Tab meetings are today held at Bendigo, Ipswich and Ascot.

BENDIGO: RACE 5 @ 3:20 PM

SCHUHBECK (5) arrives here third up from a break and ready to peak again off the good maiden win last time. Improved nicely to get off the mark there and doubt that he goes backwards now. AROUND THE HORN (1) brings a big profile to the race. Debut winner and put straight away by a strong stable. No shock to see him prove smart. SOLD THA CAR (2) was a good fresh winner and about as good when placed last time. Should be around the mark again along with KISS ME IF YOU CAN (7) who is another one coming here off a maiden win last time. Dominant performance and would think that she measures up.
SELECTIONS: Backing Schuhbeck to go on with the job.

IPSWICH: RACE 3 @ 3:03 PM

A sharp contest. BETTER THAN BEST (3) will be better for the two runs back in town in better company. She has plenty up the sleeve and won here only start at this track. Fitter now and the one to beat with the 2kg claim. FREDERICK THE DANE (1) is a former Victorian resuming for the Edmonds yard owning a Gold Coast trial win. He's fast and is advantaged by the rail. Has been away for a while but it up to this. JOY TOO ALL (2) resumes and is also in good hands. Won the 68 before the spell and the leading hoop sticks from that. Promising and is a player. GLOCK (5) will be better second-up and is in the mix.
SELECTIONS: Backing Better Than Best.

ASCOT: RACE 7 @ 5:00 PM

DARK LASS (4) won as expected third-up jumping to the middle distance. Comes back to 1800m but can manage that and the 3kg claimer goes on for Pike. She's an improver who can deliver again for the State's top barn. PAMBELLA (2) missed a nose here this level at the mile making a ratings spike. That stacks up but has to avoid being strung up from the rail. MEET JOE BLACK (1) brings a hat-trick from Kalgoorlie. He's an improver but has to manage the extra 400m. The 2kg claimer will run him along and whether he sees it right out is the query. CABLE GUY (6) did enough winning the CL3 at Northam to suggest he's a chance.
SELECTIONS: Backing Dark Lass.
