Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays at Australian TAB meetings for June 2.
Australian thoroughbred Tab meetings are today held at Wyong, Carnarvon, Echuca and Ipswich.
WYONG: RACE 3 @ 1:25 PM
NICKELBACK (1) resumes here but showed more than enough when last in work to warrant serious consideration in a race like this. Revved up for this with two strong metropolitan trials and should be right there when the whips are cracking. The well-related SHIRSHOV (3) has placed in both runs this time in and looks to be improving with racing. Expected to play a major role. SECRET HUNTER (2) best of the rest with Berry in the irons.
SELECTIONS: It breaks me to say this but Nickelback for the win.

CARNARVON: RACE 4 @ 4:10 PM
OUR CHARLIE BOY (6) quickly bounced back winning the CL1 and keeps improving. He gets a big weight drop at this level plus a 3kg claim. He will run along and is the one they have to beat. THE DIVINE WIND (3) was only beaten 1L second-up in the 64 and has more up the sleeve. Fitter and he's a danger. ARMED AND READY (4) would be in the mix at best but has been settling too far back. That's likely to happen again but fourth-up, he can show more. POPPIES (7) resumes and can also fill a minor slot if presented forward.
SELECTIONS: Backing Our Charlie Boy to win.
ECHUCA: RACE 3 @ 1:30 PM
VANKUKLA (14) started $2.50 on debut at Moe but bumped into what looks a handy one. With natural improvement and an in-form jockey on board, he can go one better here and prove hard to beat. PAMPLONA LAD (6) struggled on debut at Kilmore before a spell but has changed stables since and can improve. IDON'TGETIT (4) ran a better race last time at his second career start when third over 1300m at Stawell. A repeat of that effort can see him in the money again. MR NAFPLION (5) ran second here over 1400m last time and any rain around would be a bonus.
SELECTIONS: Vankukla to win.
IPSWICH: RACE 8 @ 4:34 PM
BIG ANGEL (3) placed here twice before the lip defeat at Eagle Farm in stronger than this. Gets the outside gate but a top hoop is booked and he'll manage that. The mare can go one better for a premier barn. TOP BOY (5) is a former Victorian who will be better for the two runs for the new stable. Lifts from the sprint and has strong figures this distance range. Needs a good ride but the 3kg claim brings him into it. BARTALUMBA (11) races handy and made good improvement at Toowoomba. This is harder but he sits down in the weights and won't be far away. STORM HARBOUR (2) peaks and has been around the mark at better level. May be best of the rest.
