Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays at Australian TAB meetings for August 11.
Australian thoroughbred Tab meetings are today held at Newcastle, Sale, Northam and Mt Isa.
NEWCASTLE: RACE 4 @ 2:25 PM
MISS SCALINI (1) is a very honest campaigner who has hit the top five at her past 11 outings. Has a win and two seconds from four starts here around her home circuit, draws the inside alley and gets 3kg off with the claim. Ticks plenty of boxes. Former Hong Kong galloper GREEN REIGN (3) has been thereabouts in all four runs since landing back on our shores and should be cherry-ripe for this. Draws low for Berry and rates among the main chances. MICRONA (4) has a solid record here with a win and six placings from 11 attempts and rarely puts in a bad effort. In the mix.

HYPOTHETICAL (8) scored with authority at Sandown last time leading throughout. Has only had the two starts and looks highly promising. Should give this a shake.DONNA NATALINA (1) raced on the speed but was no match for winner when resuming. Will strip fitter this time and has to be included in the hopes. ROSA'S REVENGE (9) looked good leading throughout at Moe on debut. Rises in grade here but looks up to the challenge. HIGH RISK (2) returned to winning form at Bairnsdale last time with a strong finishing effort and again has claims here.
SELECTIONS: Back Hypothetical to win.
NORTHAM: RACE 9 @ 4:37 PM
BENJI'S (1) resumed with a solid effort and then ran his best race just nudged out at Belmont in stronger grade than this. Fitter now and draws to advantage. Lifts to the mile and is the one to beat. HIS EMINENCE (3) is an improver who won his only third-up outing. Will likely settle back from the rail but fitter can finish hard. SHE'S OUR WITNESS (5) made good improvement winning the Maiden here from the back. She can't be ruled out over the longer trip. FORLANE (2) is also third-up and isn't out of it.
SELECTIONS: Backing Benji's to win and will double with the top weight in final event.
MT ISA: RACE 6 @ 4:35 PM
LE FORCE (8) seeks the hat-trick and belted them by 7L in a 65 the latest. Was heavily-bet and dropping to a shorter sprint shouldn't bother. Briefly freshened and should have them covered again. MAGNATE (6) has been good two-back for the new barn and gets weight relief at this level. He has more up the sleeve but the outside gate needs managing. FAVRA (3) has been struggling for his best but has been racing at Open level and is suited under the race conditions. Comes back to a sprint following a freshen and can't be ruled out. SCENIC SIGHT (7) will be fitter and has more up the sleeve. In the mix.
