Competitive racing with more value this week in Adelaide on a track that will have some give in it but not as much as elsewhere.

The first of the plays is a Victorian heading west off two wins as Brownie looks for some metro success.

This Maher & Eustace mare was OK in her first two trips to the races earlier in the year and then went to Mildura to knock off her maiden.

She backed it up by leading all the way at Kilmore with some weight on her back but it was still a dominant victory.

With the ability to handle any conditions, she can put herself on the pace and after the claim looks poised to make it the hatrick.

Then we head to the last where there is another horse who has taken well to sitting on the speed and giving a kick.

Apache Star has been in fine form of late winning twice before missing by a close margin two weeks back.

He has shown no issue at the mile and will run on any surface too.

Last start was a BM68 when a nose away and now he's back to a BM60 similar to when he scored back in September.

No doubt he has a wide gate but the early pace he has been showing means he can circumvent that and it could well be hard to make up ground late in the day.

Thinking we'll get a better price on the day as well.
