Last start winner Woakwine looks well placed to get punters off to a winning start at Morphettville on Saturday when lining up in the first on the program

The four-year-old gelding has won two of his last three, both coming at this course and distance and he does not take on any tougher today.

Woakwine who possesses a very good career record rates well on weight adjusted Timeform ratings and tends to do his best racing over the mile.

Under The Hat who finished runner up behind Woakwine last start meets much better at the weights especially with the 2kg claim for the apprentice jockey but has failed to win a race in 728 days now and tends to mix his form.

From barrier six Woakwine will not be far away in the run have led from start to finish last time out and he should be able to go on with it today with jockey Matthew Neilson on board for the first time.

Later in the day Monica Kate will be looking for a much deserved win having raced well enough in recent times.

The four-year-old mare steps up to the 1800m for the first time in what appears to be a fairly moderate field.

Runner up at Gawler two back, Monica Kate was only fair at Morphettville last start but her best recent form stacks up well against these and currently at $7 looks to be decent each way odds.

Amy Herrmann who has a good record on the mare will stay on board and the daughter of Face Value rates well enough on weight adjusted Timeform ratings.

The scratching of Bit Of Schiller throws this wide open and at the current price Monica Kate looks right in the mix of the Endeavour Homes 72 Handicap.

Bulbula who has been racing in tougher company of late will drop back in class in search of a much needed victory, having not tasted success in 455 days now.

The David Hayes-trained runner only managed to beat the one runner home at Caulfield last start and recent form has been only moderate.

Will find this an easier task and her best form does measure up well but has not produced it very often of late and she comes up against a couple of handy runner in form.

Quick Lover has been racing well this preparation and Champagne Shisha’s last start win rates well here.

Bulbula is the current favourite however for a horse that has managed just the one win which came over a year ago I would not be diving in today.
