A drop back from stakes company sees Mr Manhattan well placed at Warwick Farm on Saturday.
The Joe Pride-trained sprinter returns from a let up following a 3.4 length eighth in the Starlight Stakes (1100m) at Rosehill last month behind stablemate Kuro.
The Starlight Stakes marked a sharp class rise on his prior outing, a Benchmark 85 at Canterbury (1100m) on November 5 which he won.
The flashy son of Manhattan Rain was facing a strong field in the Starlight Stakes which included a host of Group winning types and boom sprinting mare Nieta.
On Saturday he strikes a substantially weaker affair, the Summer Sprint (1000m) at Warwick Farm.
In a field of 11, only five runners sit inside the handicap with the remaining six at this point looking better suited contesting lesser races.
Topweight Oxford Poet will need more ground and another in the handicap, Hurrara, is struggling for form.
The remaining two inside the handicap, Dal Cielo and Plateau Gold are each company from Open class sprints in the country.
It is shaping as a highly suitable race for Mr Manhattan which he should be able to capitalise on.
$3.70 can be found about Mr Manhattan with Ladbrokes.
Using Ladbrokes Odds boost however, $4.00 is available.
Earlier in the program, Peter and Paul Snowden saddle up a dual pronged attack in the TAB Rewards Benchmark 70 Handicap (1400m) with First Approval and France.
Both are genuine winning chances raced by the China Horse Club however suspect the Redoute’s Choice colt France spearheads the duo.
France was a first up maiden winner at Canterbury before showing good improvement second up over 1400m at Rosehill when a closing second behind Achi Baba a fortnight ago.
Form out of the race is expected to hold up through the winner while France gets an opportunity to frank it on Saturday.
The colt should be fitter again third run from a spell and the application of Blinkers first time has the potential to spark further improvement.
It is an open sort of race with six of the eight runners at this point quoted at single figure odds.
