Returning Filibuster Out To Remain Unbeaten

3 minute read

Talentd three-year-old filibuster looks well placed to remain unbeaten when she lines up in the Class 3 (1000m) on the Polytrack at Kranji on Sunday.

The Cliff Brown-trained runner was terrific in her debut campaign, winning her maiden by three and a half lengths before going on to win a Class 4 by the same margin prior to a spell.

Filibuster has been given two trials leading into this, winning both of them by decent margins and should be forward enough for her first up assignment.

The daughter of Ilovethiscity has been a handful and the barriers previously but likely to be aimed at the three-year-old sprint feature races this preparation should be winning this to make it three from as many starts.

From the wide barrier jockey Michael Rodd is likely to push forward on the filly like he has the two previous outings and this looks a nice returning race for her.

Running to a Timeform of figure of 86p prior to a spell, Filibuster is likely to have come on since that effort and looks the best chance of the day.

Yulong Fast Steed shapes up as the main danger off last start win, running on well from back in the field to claim a strong victory over Katagas in a Class 4 Non Premier (1000m).

The addition of the blinkers appeared to really switch the four-year-old on and despite taking on tougher company today his last start win is hard to ignore.

Fourth up now, Yulong Fast Steed should be at peak fitness and expect him to be hitting the line strongly again today.

Mokastar is a speedy three-year-old who is building a very impressive career record and comes into this race off some handy form.

Having missed the placings just once in ten career starts, Mokastar was last seen when winning a Class 3 over this C/D in early January and has since gone on to win a barrier trial in preparation for today.

The Ricardo Le Grange-trained runner goes up in the weights on his last start win but it’s hard to ignore his recent form and from barrier 4 he will settle just of the leaders and prove very hard to beat.

Silkino comes out of the same race when third, beaten a length and he meets Mokastar 3kg better at the weights in this.

Does not win often with just the two wins in 17 starts but recent form suggests he is going well enough to be very competitive today.

Good luck!
