Brisbane Best – August 4

Doomben hosts a tough nine race card with warm weather leading to a good surface.

A nice young mare can go back to back in another Class 3 at the mile.

Italia Bella was able to sit in a forward position despite drawing wide two weeks ago.

She now draws perfectly from this start to land a similar spot and that is crucial over the 1630m.

Importantly she has had two attempts over the distance for a three length maiden win and a six length BM75 win.

The four year old is the highest rated horse in the race but the mares allowance makes her a great bet.

Earlier in the 1110m handicap, we might be taking a little risk with this runner from the draw but his carnival form was right up to this.

In His Stride won the Listed Ascot Handicap back in April on wet ground but his dry form is decent too.

The 3kg off for Corey Bayliss brings him right down near the minimum and with plenty of speed in the race, he can sit back off them and look to charge late.

A lot of the rivals have had trouble winning races of recent times.

The son of Rothesay does perform well off let ups too. Happy to give him a hope on Saturday at massive odds.
