Best From The West: Belmont – 25th May 2019

Racing has now turned to Belmont for the Winter period.

WILLIAM PIKE Picture: Racing and Sports

It is very easy to see another campaign of progression for the filly Mystery Miss as she resumes in the final race.

For the Pike/Williams team, the daughter of Animal Kingdom won her maiden then a Saturday race before taking the Belgravia at the start of the Summer carnival.

Tipped out after that she has spelled and trialled twice and now finds a ratings race from a beautiful barrier and no weight.

She seems so well placed against these horses. Happy to back her.

The Provincial Championship Series Final is over 1400m and we’ll again plump for William Pike to get back into winning ways.

Moschard is a four year old from Kalgoorlie and he too made a winning campaign at the end of last year.

However he’s clearly benefitted from that confidence with a strong finish in the heat at Kalgoorlie at the start of the month.

Thinking he will be better at this journey so the question will be is he ridden for some speed or happy to sit back and hit the line.

In a race of this nature we should still get a fair price.
