The Listed Beaufine Stakes is the feature on the Belmont program on Saturday on a day which looks damp.
Need to be finding horses who handle those conditions and one who is in form and has no drama in it is The Velvet King.
He’s returned in nice form and is 2 from 2 on soft going. He’ll be heading straight onto the pace which is often a solid place to be in these conditions.
His Listed form is excellent so this type of race is perfect. In this confident frame of mind we’ll stick with the 3yo.
We’ll take another 3yo as the each way play in the 2000m race.
Lavistarr is bred to love wet ground and has been racing with consistency.
She will get back in the field but from this draw may be able to sit around midfield this time. She has been able to do that from nice barriers.
Way down in the weights this time, we’ll take the chance she is not too dour staying at this journey again.
