Not an easy card on the main Morphettville track this weekend.
Prepared to give Akkacan another go this Saturday in Race 6 after he missed the placings recently but was not too far back.
He carried 52kg following the claim in a BM86 and this week only lumps 55.5kg in a BM70.
Landing in a similar spot, he can ease out and make a challenge on the corner on a soft track which he enjoys.
We'll get decent odds with an apprentice riding on that surface.
In the next, just a total speck bet here but there was good interest at big odds for a first starter in Australia three weeks ago at Flemington.
On that basis happy to throw something small each way on Chelkar now that he's headed over to a much easier race and over more ground.
This son of Azamour was competing at Royal Ascot this time last year and ran bravely in the Ascot Stakes.
In his first go here he was last in running and picked off a few late over far too short a race.
This is only at a mile and a quarter but down in the weights and with more speed on, he might run home and give us a sight.
