Consistent sprinter Macewen looks well placed for a second up win at Eagle Farm on Saturday.

The Tony Gollan-trained four-year-old finds a race to suit in the First Asset Management Handicap over 1200m.

Macewen made an encouraging return when he was strong to the line for a close-up third at Doomben two weeks ago.

That was the gelding's first run for four months and he has won second up before so can be expected to progress.

Macewen's best form has all come at 1200m with three wins and two placings from seven attempts and he was also a winner at Eagle Farm last campaign.

Brad Stewart knows him will and if Macewen can improve as expected off his good first up rating he looks tough to stop.

Former NSW sprinter Invincible Gangsta has a sense of timing for his assignment later in the program.

The Barry Lockwood-trained five-year-old looks set to peak third up in Lady William Memorial Benchmark 85 over 1000m.

Invincible Gangsta improved plenty at his second run for the new yard when missing by just a head over the distance at Sunshine Coast.

He has only once missed a place in seven attempts at 1000m and has placed at all three previous third-up attempts.

He rated well last start and if he can find any progression off that he offers each way appeal.
