Brisbane Best: Eagle Farm – 31st August 2019

3 minute read

Queensland newcomer Invincible Gangsta can go back-to-back when he lines up at Eagle Farm tomorrow.

The five year-old has improved with each outing since joining Barry Lockwood this campaign and looks set to take another step forward in the BRC Membership Handicap over 1000m.

Invincible Gangsta was heavily backed in his third run in Queensland a fortnight ago and landed the plunge, racing away for an impressive 2.5 length win at this course and distance.

He beat several of today's rivals in good fashion - including main danger in the betting Whypeeo - and he should find an ideal position in running from the low draw.

It continued his trend of lifting his rating with each outing for Lockwood and if he can do the same on Saturday he is a big chance for back-to-back wins.

Progressive mare Our Girl Silke looks well placed to strike third up in the www.brc.com.au Class 3 Plate over 1400m with Mark Du Plessis in the saddle.

The lightly-raced six-year-old has found the line well to finish just over two lengths from the winner in her two runs since a lengthy spell and should be ready to produce her best third up.

She produced some decent efforts in Melbourne last year when trained in Victoria, returning ratings that would put her clearly on top of this field.

She lifted her figure at her second run for Kelly Schweida when fourth at this course a fortnight ago and is she can take a similar step forward she will be ready to win.
