Brisbane Best: Doomben – 30th November 2019

The Queensland summer carnival gains momentum at Doomben on Saturday with a Group 3 and a Listed race highlighting the nine-race card.

While those two races have drawn together competitive fields we're going around them in search of the best bets.

While tricky races are the order of the day, A Man To Match looks one set to peak third up in the Hamilton Hotal Benchmark 90 over 2030m.

The Tony Gollan-trained four-year-old has produced good efforts at both runs this time in, chasing well to finish second at Sunshine Coast at his latest appearance.

That run will have brought him to his peak and he is suited stepping up trip having scored a win and Group 3 second in his two previous attempts at the journey.

He hasn't missed a place in four visits to Doomben so ticks a few boxes and gets his chance to strike.

Sydney visitor Eleven Eleven could be set for a first up kill in the TAB Winning Rupert over 1200m earlier in the program.

The Greg Hickman-trained gelding really put it together at the end of his last campaign winning his last three starts at Kembla Grange, returning ratings that stack up strongly in this line up.

He hasn't raced since August but has prepared for his return by placing in two Sydney trials so should be wound up and the decision to head north with him must be respected.

One query is the distance as his three wins were all over 1000m but he gets a cushy run from the draw on the fence and should be a stronger horse this time around.
