Leaving the juvenile races aside, we were on Laverrod at odds that eventually tightened right up when it was first up and he was excellent.

Of course he will be short this time from last we tipped him but he looks a great first leg of any multi you have.

Coming off his top form in Listed races during the Summer carnival, he resumed by racing back and storming home.

He had over 3L to spare on the line and if anything should be better suited to the 1200m.

Only up 1kg, happy to be thinking he is better than the rivals.

In what is a very competitive Grandstand Cup over the 1500m, thinking there could be a nice price about Pushin' Shapes.

This gelding followed a well worn path to Melbourne last Spring and like many Perth gallopers, took home some lovely loot.

He sat midfield at Caulfield and Damien Oliver drove him home at big odds. He then wasn't too bad in the Coongy.

Love the fact he is straight to 1500m rather than pottering around over shorter and seemingly less competitive distances.
