Brisbane Best: Eagle Farm – 21st March 2020

A narrow resuming second will have progressive filly Winning Shot ready to strike at Eagle Farm on Saturday.

The Stuart Kendrick-trained three-year-old comes into the Tulloch House Benchmark 70 over 1000m with a 50 per cent strike rate.

Winning Shot resumed at Sunshine Coast almost a fortnight ago where she ran on and duelled with the winner before her condition gave out late and she went down narrowly.

That run will have brought her on and she had won her two other attempts at 1000m.

Winning Shot is drawn to get the run of the race for Ryan Maloney and she looks well placed second up.

Lightly-raced gelding Leadership Spill looks worth an each way gamble in the Ascot Green Handicap over 1000m.

The three-year-old is one of four runners in the race for Tony Gollan and looks close to another win having performed well in both runs since a spell.

He placed at this course first up then rated highly when fourth to The Odyssey in a strong race last time, the winner franking the form by winning the rich Jewel since.

Leadership Spill has good speed so the drop back to 1000m may suit better and he should be ready to show his best third up.
