Say From SA: Morphettville – 2nd May 2020

It is a great day of racing and hopefully punting as two Group 1s are run at Morphettville.

Once again we have to wait until the last for the main bet as Behemoth runs in the DC McKay Stakes.

Under the conditions of the race, he is well placed and given the Goodwood is next start, he will be very forward.

His two runs in Sydney in the Spring were excellent – especially in the Golden Eagle when he just missed the placings.

The last couple of wet track runs were solid efforts and consider he really should have won the Goodwood last season on this track.

With the main hopes forced to give him weight, we're content that he gets the right run.

Back to the Australasian Oaks where in an open race, Chris Waller has plenty of ammunition.

One of those is the recent Australian Oaks runner up Toffee Tongue and while she is still a maiden after eight goes, her form is excellent.

All she needed was ground and working to the line showed that in the Adrian Knox. Once again she got that in the Oaks but again ran into Colette.

Both those efforts came on heavy ground and this will certainly be rain affected on Saturday.

Bred to definitively stay and swim, the price looks a safe bet each way.
