It is a strong Saturday card again at Flemington with big fields and plenty of value.
The highlight of the day is the Listed Straight Six and as so many 1200s at Flemington are, it is an open race. We'll look there later.
If we can wait until the last race, it was so hard to miss the run of The Astrologist first up over the 1000m.
While it was a small field, he was basically the only one to make up ground and he was in front 50m past the post.
We will know more by the last, but they will probably come up the centre to outside of the course on the damper track.
With no trouble on an affected track, we're looking for him to have last crack at the leaders and be the one finishing best.
Onto that Listed race and one horse who comes off a short, sharp and successful prep is the Albury trained Lord Von Costa.
He was second back in December and then over the same course and distance as this, he won a BM84, racing in a forward spot.
Off two trials for Donna Scott, he finds an even Listed race and snags Craig Williams to ride him.
Many of these have struggled to find the winner's list in any of their recent outings and we are getting $11 to find out if he's good enough.
