Ratings suggest Wren’s Day is well placed to chalk up another win at Sunshine Coast on Saturday.
The gelding was an eye-catcher at his first Queensland run when hitting the line well for second in a C6 to the in-form Soxagon, favourite for a stakes race later in the program.
The drop to a C3 looks a significant one for a horse as accomplished as Wren's Day as he was Group 1 placed in France before joining Godolphin's Australian team.
His last-start ratings were well above what his rivals produced and he only needs to perform to that level again to prove hard to beat.
Sydneysider Special Missile heads north and may be ready to produce his best third up in one of the day's features, the Glasshouse Handicap.
The gelding has been solid in two runs since a spell, the latest a 2.3L fifth at Rosehill when he boxed on after leading.
He hasn't raced for four weeks but has been kept up to the mark with a solid trial and is proven third up so has each way appeal.
